It is remarkable that someone who can (justifiably) root for national powerhouses such as Purdue and UConn chooses to be a Zips fan. Go Zips!

Follow up- minutes after receiving the call I received an email informing me that the Zips Athletics Day of Giving is only 9 minutes away! LOL.

Looking at the list online. Kentucky definitely. Indiana like UCLA hasn't done much lately, but yes. I mean Indiana has one more championship than Kansas. And Kansas is a no brainer to most people. UConn has 2 more than Kansas so I think it's official, they are a blue blood. The school that is borderline and the reason I Google searched is Villanova with 3 Championships.

It also begs the question, is UCLA even a blue blood anymore? They obviously have the most titles, but all of that was mostly under Wooden. They have only made it to the Elite 8 4 times this century and only have 1 national title within the last 40 years.

I thought of this, but I'm not sure if Kentucky is a move up at this point. Money talks, but staying at UConn might be the better play.

Verbal Commits says Julius Rollins is in the Portal. May be best for him to get a fresh start. He made a huge mistake and has certainly paid the price for it. I heard he received death threats and lots of hateful attacks. Best of luck to him, but he will always be a footnote in Zips basketball history. Helped Groce remain undefeated in MAC championships.

And unless they have another Caitlin Clark come along, it'll probably be the only time. She was worth every ounce of coverage. Fantastic player.

Big hire for former UA AD Hunter Yurachek. Letting him walk after Rhoades left was a huge mistake. Obviously he'd have moved on from UA at some point, but he'd have stayed here for a several years and done some great things.

BGSU: Redshirt freshman Lucian Anderson (2023 HS signee) is taking most of the first team reps at quarterback due to last year’s starters being sidelined with injuries during the spring. Senior safety Trent Sims (2020 HS signee) has been moved to linebacker. Scot Loeffler expects some of the freshmen running backs to see significant playing time this year. BUFFALO: Bulls will be playing a spread offense and attempt to move quickly. No mention of who leads at quarterback, but there have been several clips of redshirt junior Gunnar Gray (2023 JUCO). EMU: Junior defensive end Jeff Adam (2024 transfer from Iowa State), junior safety Bryce Llewellyn (2024 transfer from Charleston Southern), junior defensive back Dramarion McNulty (2024 JUCO) are new comers that have been singled out for leading and making plays. On offense, this is supposedly EMU’s most talented QB room since Chris Creighton’s arrival. KENT: Junior Tommy Ulatowski (2022 HS signee) and redshirt freshman JD Sherrod (2024 transfer from Troy) are competing for the starting quarterback job. Kenni Burns believes the offensive and defensive lines will be the strength of the team in 2024. 5 true freshmen played on the OL at different points during the 2023 season and all 5 return. NIU: The quarterback competition is currently between redshirt junior Ethan Hampton (2021 HS signee) and redshirt junior Jalen Macon (2024 transfer from Arkansas PB). OHIO: Defensive leaders are junior safety Adonis Williams (2022 transfer from Navy), redshirt junior defensive end Bradley Weaver (2021 HS signee), and redshirt junior MIKE linebacker Shay Taylor (2021 HS signee). TOLEDO: Mostly just pictures and a few clips. Hard to tell much of anything.

Player ratings for the last MLS game played by FC Cincinnati RWB – DEANDRE YEDLIN – 9 (MAN OF THE MATCH) Yedlin is my man of the match. His play high up the pitch and creativity brought tons of stress on the Charlotte defenders to cover space was promising. It is really hard to believe Yedlin has only been with the squad for just over three weeks. The way he can read his teammates’ movements and anticipate what runs to make is a credit to his soccer IQ. The back-heel assist to spring Aaron Boupendza’s game-tying goal was a thing of beauty. Events like these benefit the athletes students alumni fans and general community around Akron. They are a good thing and should happen.

not sure why they wont bring back the basketball celebration banquet. It was an enjoyable event back when KD was here but Charles and Seth have no interest. I thought it promoted the program well much like the pre season tip off event .

They would be better off instructing the athletes on how to live like a college student and save what little they get for life after college.
