I took off my glasses and pounded a table too.

Under 1 hour now.

We played two very different games against Toledo. At the JAR on January 14th, the Zips were down 12 at half and outscored Toledo 55-36 in the second half to win 85-78. On March 4th, at Toledo, the Zips were up 21 at half then got outscored 63-51 in the second half, winning 96-87. I'd suggest that the Zips should outscore the Rockets in both halves tomorrow to remove the suspense.

Now time to cheer for a 3OT game between Ohio and Toledo.

This team is insane. Have we ever won by almost 40 points in the MAC tournament before? I feel like most games are relatively close. Guess it was dumb of me to take BG to cover.

This is a positive for the University. It both gives them an infusion of cash to reduce debt and also reduces annual maintenance costs. I hope whoever bought it is able to redevelop it into something that will be useful for the community.

"Precocious" was apparently on Reghi's Word Power tapes this week.

I wonder if Amani Lyles was at all close to getting a mention.

Please ignore above post. Could not get it off my screen. Our best player and MAC player of the year went 1 for 9 and only scored 3 points and we won by 30. However, Nate had 8 rebounds and 5 assists. He also had the plus 25 while on the floor which led the Zips. Hope he has a better shooting day tomorrow. On a completely unrelated note, I met a guy at the game whose job was to record player stats in real time and he told me he would be there all day doing all 4 games. He said there were at least 10 other people doing the same thing as him for different companies. He indicated it was gambling related and that the stats on ESPN were delayed by 30 seconds. I guess the gambling companies need all the stats in real time to adjust the odds as the game progresses. He told me the job paid $200 a day but he loved it because he loves basketball. I just found this bizarre.

I rooting for Western and Eastern.

We shouldn't lose to either team if we play the way we are capable of.

Ohio State gets bounced by Iowa. You love to see it.

From the ticket office: "We will be in sections 103-107 for Thursday. And then 106/107 for Friday Saturday" They used to make that information available to the public a number of years ago. The process has basically stayed the same, but a single session on Thursday and renumbering of the sections when the arena was renovated make it confusing. Since Zips are #1 seed I'm pretty sure we are in the same area every game. Large demand in later rounds may add to that a bit.

Eastern Michigan going full Eastern Michigan.

Gave us fits when we played them in Athens. Definitely a guy who can take a game over.

They're not a good shooting team to begin with, and they're only 6 deep. Advantage Akron all day long.

Toledo plays its starters heavy minutes. Wilson played all 45 minutes, Simmons played 39 (would gave been 42, but he fouled out with 3 minutes in OT), Lewis played 44, and Adams played 34 (would have been more, but fouled out near end of regulation). If Akron can turn tomorrow into a track meet it should be to our benefit.

Today we are all Western Michigan Broncos fans.

I didn't have a dog in this fight until I saw Pav go off in this game. He is like DJ Cooper. I want him out of this tourney.

They spent a good amount of time on Cleveland Browns Daily, of all places, talking about the Zips during the opening segment. Probably because the producer is a BG grad. Regardless they had nothing much praise for Groce and the team he's put together. They're rooting for the Zips to win the MAC and hopefully make a run.

Don't you dare suggest common sense ideas to the MAC. The MAC also shouldn't have a Tuesday/Saturday conference game schedule when Tuesday nights are high school basketball game nights in Ohio (where their offices and majority of their schools are, especially the top programs).

The 4/5 game should be the late one tonight if they really wanted to give the 1 seed an advantage

LFG!!! Clicking on all cylinders at the right time. Our depth is already an advantage in a 3 day tournament, but a blowout win in the first round where nobody needs to play significant minutes can only help more!

That was a mini flashback to Groce at OU. 5pm for those of us not in paradise, yes.

One area where the Zips have not been good is coming out of a timeout right before the half. Seth and Marcus Johnson should know each other from their time at SVSM.

I'm more convinced than ever that Groce (not the opponent as much) forced the team into a new offense for the second part of the MAC season. It was a rough patch in February and some of the 3s weren't falling to make it even harder, but they learned how to still scored ~80 points without taking 30 3s per game. This put a new threat on tape for teams to have to plan for which Groce knew, come tournament time, would open up the 3 ball again. Should teams stay out on the 3 line against us, we'd have over a month of experience with the new style. BUGS is collapsing on our guards and leaving guys open, which is something we haven't seen much since January.

I saw an article on it awhile back. Her parents were both acrobats in China. It kind of was forced onto her by her dad at a young age.

When I watch eX Game I always think about at what point in the competitors live did they decide to get good at things like flipping around in the air on a snowboard. I think the same thing with this lady. When did she decide to get good at this?

Probably the nail in the coffin for their backdoor tourney odds. I love it. Screw that school.

I had no idea this show existed but the MAC puts out a basketball show every week on youtube. Don't do a great job at promoting it tho

Zips should be a sure thing in my book opening round ... the other three games all have some level of upset potential. Beware of Western ... they beat Kent, Eastern and Miami during the regular season.

They should give him a second try. This time he wins the tax money he will need for his new car.
