  1. Just reading soccer forum and was reminded, isin't this early signing period for BB? FB next month?
  2. I went sports, and found CBSSN. EMU/Akron was shown there with 7PM start.
  3. I have mixed fealings for this game. I want an all out effort to get a win; while at the same time l would like to see some Fr get some reps without burning their red shirt. You never know for sure what you have until the bullets are flying! I think most of the Fr can apear in our final 3 games and still have 4 more years to play 4. Three months of practice should have at least some of them ready to see some action. I would hate for this to turn into a throw away year, but a few reps could motivate some guys to step it up in the off season.
  4. Blindside block was BS! Did 13 get a penilty for each word? He may have been out of line, but 2 fouls?
  5. What is the weather?
  6. This game could have been won in the first half. First: we should have been up 21-0. Put you foot on their neck, and don't look back. Second: with a 1:39 remaining, poor kickoff and TD drive. We just have to stop allowing TD's at the end of the first half!
  7. I want our guys to look up at the end of the fourth quarter and see a Zips win!
  8. Losing, particularly losing creatively, brings out the worst in some.
  9. I'm asking as a former pig skin player, did the official let WM get away with too much physical play? We seemed to mimic them as the game progressed. If all the pushing and bumping is legit, I think we will see more of that in the future. That seemed to take us off our game.
  10. Sunday's match was the first live action that I have seen since the Rubber Bowl. I was over stunned! The speed, precision, total dominance. I kept wondering, "were we that good, or was Northern that bad." That totally soothed Saturday's pain!
  11. Camer person should be forced to watch a replay. A trained monkey could have done better!
  12. Without checking, I bet they were all big winners in HS. With a little success last Saturday, I sensed a bit more intensity in our guys. They remember winning, and I think that they will put it together Saturday.
  13. Zips finally put their sh** in a pile and win a close one. BG is improved, but I give us the edge with the home field.
  14. It's hard to tell watching TV, but it seems that both OL and DL are lacking quickness. TE could bump and release to slow down those games that were giving OT's so much trouble. TE & HB might be needed to power up some off tackle runs. Red zone issues?
  15. With Liberty's injuries, I'm looking for a close Zips win. We have gotten off to fast starts, but allowed mistakes to derail us. This week we put it together. Turn overs will be key. New starter jitters will lead to Liberty T/O's. Don't we still have some expected contributors that have not seen action yet? A couple more bodies on D could help.
  16. It is more than 60 min of football. If you make it an event, fans will come even in an off year. For some tailgating party makes thr day. Others may enjoy dinner down town before or after the game. Get creative with the excessive TV time outs.
  17. I think Undercufler will be over the jitters and move the team. I predict 2 TD's this week. Vol's. 45-17.
  18. I don't know if injuries or discipline kept several men on the sideline for week one. I look to see them in action this week, but it will not be enough. Spartans 49-30
  19. I guess we just found what level of play we are at.
  20. Maybe not.
  21. Finally, a sack. Now maybe the OL will exert themselves!
  22. Zips win by at least 30. SFU will be limited to a couple FG's. 42-6.
  23. @catdaddyp, you are right. What l was getting at was that we don't want to see the same kind of stupid sh** that we have been fed. Your clip was perfect! By game 9, a team should know what they are doing. You could have posted a similar clip of the O looking like a peewee team. I really don't think all of our problems have been a lack of talent. We will see if fresh faces will bring out improved performance from what we already had. Fresh faces with pads and those with whistles!
  24. Bigjim started a thread "What else is needed for the class of '23?". It made me think what else is needed coming out of camp? QB: consistency, ball security---Skill positions: FOCUS. It just seemed like we had untold issues with people lacking total commitment last year.---O line: Some of these men showed the ability to run block as true Fr. Last year defenses could run the simplest of stunts and run free in our backfield. We need coaching to put these men in position to succeed.---D line: We were man handled last year. We need determination not to be beat. ---LB: It was hard to tell if LB's were slow to react or if D linemen were pushed into their way. We need the LB's to tackle at the line of scrimmage. CB's & S's: We need tighter coverage. Coaches: We have been getting a lot of "Raw, Raw"; we need results on the score board. We are not going to go 12/0, but we can not have 50 point blow outs!
  25. We lost about 50 players, and Buffalo may have lost more. With just a quick look, it seems like the have nots have shored up, and the powers didn't need much shoring. I think that when Oct/Nov rolls around, you just don't know what will happen from week to week. I don't think either division will be decided until Thanksgiving.
