Does anyone know what Arth did or said to get the unsportsmanlike penalty. At least he finally showed some fire today. At exactly the wrong time. But still.

Don't laugh too hard... at one time Akron was in the Northeast Conference for about 1 week-- until the MAC took us in. Long timers will remember: We were moving from Independent status --- for all other sports mainly-- Huggins was livid that basketball had no conference with access to the NCAA Tournament-- and NEC was the only conference willing to take us at the time.

I am predicting that the game will be played -- (unlike Nebraska.) And that the check will clear. The only question is who will score more on us.... Auburn, Ohio State or Kent State? SEC teams show no mercy.. neither will Kent. OHIO State will pull the starters but even their walk-ons will score on us.

actually ULM is #6 and we are #7--- which in this poll means we are actually 1 spot higher as #1 is the worst and #10 is the least of the worst. Maybe by end of season we can be #1 again??

Former Season Ticket Holder with a question.. I have not been following the Zips since Bowden was let go --- (not the main reason -- life can get complicated and your attentions have to focus elsewhere.) But can someone please explain why he was fired? Some on here say what bad shape the program was in so he had to go. That Arth has to build from scratch. I am not saying Bowden was the long term answer at all. But considering where we were before he came: Bowden gave us 2 bowl appearances. A MAC Title Game appearance, wins over Pitt and Northwestern and the almost program-changing performance at Michigan and the over all record was: "During the 2018 season, the Zips were 4-8 overall and 2-6 in the Mid-American Conference division. They also defeated the Big Ten West Champion, Northwestern, 39-34. This was Akron’s first win over a Big Ten opponent in school history. Coach Bowden’s record leading the program is 35-52 overall and 23-33 in MAC play. He also led the Zips to two post-season bowl games." Arth has given us 1 win in 3 seasons.. that takes me back to Ianello flashbacks.

MAC Membership Requirements from the MAC Constitution old copy -- does anyone know if this still applies? "Participation Each full conference member shall participate in a minimum of six conference-sponsored sports, of which three must be football, basketball and baseball for men and three must be volleyball, basketball and softball for women. The conference shall sponsor 11 sports for men and 12 sports for women. A majority of member institutions must compete in a sport for it to be considered a MAC-sponsored sport and approved as a conference sport by a majority vote of the Council of Presidents. So we are starting a Women's Lacrosse team and joining the ASUN along with Kent, Coastal Carolina, Howard, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Liberty, and Stetson -- lots a travel in this conference.... so I was thinking... Why not add Field Hockey? The MAC already sponsors the sport.. Kent, Miami, Longwood, Ohio, Ball State, Appalachian State and Central Michigan all are already in MAC --- travel would be less and we can play Big Ten schools as well. My daughter played in high school -- its fun to watch and we already have conference to play in that is much less travel?? Just a thought.

Why is it the new world we live in has decided any reference to God in public must be illegal or divisive? School prayer rulings do not apply to a college or university because the students are all over 18 -- that makes them adults. They are able to participate in a team prayer if they desire to -- or they can decide not to. I mean really --- are they adults or not? As long as there are no penalties for non-participation -- and it is not mandatory -- it is perfectly fine.
