We're going to have co-defensive coordinators this year. A member of the current staff plus a blast from the past. I can't divulge who just yet. Let's see who makes the right guesses.Β Β

Past coach or player?

Right. Give us this Hilltopper - past UA coach, player, or old "name" that has no prior relation to UA?

I would guess coach Stroud. With all his other responsibilities, it's a good idea to get him help.Β

I expect coach Stroud to be eventually named DC, he ran the show today. His help will come in the form of a new LB coach...think Lee Owens era. There will also be a few other coaching announcements, coming all at once very soon. Some reorganization, nothing earth shattering.Β

Damn Z, I was hoping for a reorganization that brought us new faces as OC and Special Teams Coordinator. My hopes are crushed.Β

@72 Roo, thereΒ will be some reorganization with the special teams staff. Coach Milwee is definitely still in charge of the offense. Sorry to be cryptic, but there will be an official announcement from the university coming soon. I would guess before the spring game, but not sure.Β

This could be coach Stroud's help speaking with Zips linebacker James King

I appreciate all you do to keep us informed as to TB's coaching decisions. He's got my support but I just can't get my head around his choices for OffenseΒ and Special Team coordinators. We have performed so badly over the last several years in both areas that a change is warranted. IΒ realize this is a pet peeve of mine and maybe not shared by others, but a change can be positive for this team. Coaching does matter as we have the talent to put a better product on the field.

Β

None of that affects the respect I have for your informative posts. They are too notch. Thanks.

I feel there isΒ a large amount of people on this board who would agree with you.

Most college special teams coordinators know essentially nothing about the specialists (kicker, punter, and long snapper.) Unless they have the payroll to bring in someone with a background in one of these areas. G6 teams typically dont have that kind of budget. The most important thing that the Zips could do is go offer a top 50 prospect from Kohl's kicking for both punter and kicker and do the same for a Rubio lobgsnapper and offer them an outright scholarship, not a scholarship once they have won the job. I don"t see that happening.
