The dumbest rule in the NBA - outside of their apron salary cap crap - is the banishment of two-way players from the playoff rosters. The dude averaged a double double in the G League as a rookie and wasn't able to participate in the NBA playoffs. Dumb. Nonetheless, the Pacers are 1 win away from securing him a ring. GP1 Posted June 21 Report Posted June 21 What is a two way play and why can't they play in the playoffs? Explain it like you were talking to a third grader. 1 Quote

Smart. Keep the explanation just above the average Kent intelligence level. It's a contract that allows players to be based in the G League, but go up and down throughout the regular season between the NBA and G League. They are in addition to the 15 player roster, which is why they are ineligible for the playoff roster. Edited June 21 by Let'sGoZips94 Quote
1981 grad Posted June 21 Report Posted June 21 He came very close to getting a roster spot in February according to news reports: Their most pressing need is at the center position. While Jahlil Okafor is currently on a 10-day contract, they’re keeping options open. The buyout market could yield interesting prospects like Mo Bamba, who offers mobility and three-point shooting ability that fits Indy’s style of play. The Pacers are also considering converting one of their two-way players to a standard contract. Enrique Freeman stands out as a strong candidate due to his impressive play with the Mad Ants and potential as a modern big. This move would allow them to sign another player to a two-way deal, maximizing roster flexibility.*** 1 Quote
zippy5 Posted Monday at 01:25 PM Report Posted Monday at 01:25 PM having watched a lot of Pacers this year, I think Rique really fits in with their style. Hopefully he gets a 1 way deal next year, I think he could flourish 1 Quote

If he can continue to get stronger down low and further develop his outside jumper, he will definitely be a prime candidate for a legitimate NBA contract. 1 Quote
