Eastern Michigan- 2/19/21

The Zips head back to that state up north for a Saturday afternoon matinee with EMU.

Stan Heath’s Beagles stand at 9-17/4-11.  6’2” freshman guard Noah “Don’t call me Louis” Farrakhan leads the Beagles at 15.6 ppg.   They have lost 6 of their last 7 games.

Please pardon my recent brevity on these.  I'm getting a little pissy.

Perfect tip-off time. Middle of the day where I can be busy and forget to watch what could be a repeat of the previous two performances.

(Just kidding. I have to watch. I have two girls that need to know the ups and downs of being an Akron fan.)

Zips somehow 5-point favorites

Edit: Also discovered WBB betting lines! Zips women are home doggies at +2.5 against the Flushes.

Is there a greater indicator of the level of America's gambling degeneracy than an established line on a MAC women's basketball game?  LOL.

We have lost 3 in a row and have only one day rest and a trip to Michigan.  In the best of circumstances this would be a tough game.    What are the predictions for this game.

I am an optimist and I predict a close game but the Zips win and X comes out of his slump and scores in double digits.  Zips win by 4.

However, I could also see this team playing another lethargic road game and losing in a blowout.

Give me your predictions with who wins and by how much.

And for those people on this board who think the sky is falling, the Dukes have lost 11 in a row and most of the losses have been blowouts.  https://triblive.com/sports/duquesne-men-lose-11th-game-in-row/

This is a game the Zips should win.  EMU is awful.  The only statistical areas where they excel are steals and turnover margin.  Otherwise, in the MAC, they are 10th in offense/points scored; 10th in defense/points against; 11th in field goal percentage; 11th in opponent field goal percentage; last in three point percentage; 11th in opponent's field goal percentage; last in combined rebounds; 10th in opponent's rebounds; last in rebound margin; and 10th in assists.

The Zips need to take care of the ball today.  No more sloppy lazy passes.  Lock down Farakhan and run him off of the three point line.  With Aziz and Freeman, they can take a few more chances of pressure on the perimeter as those two can defend the basket in the even they get beat on a drive.  Mix up the defenses a little.

You just can't help yourself (I resemble that remark).

I hoping, but not confident, in a close Zips win - 3 points.

I don't like thinking or typing this but If it's close the Zips aren't going to win.  I think the ship is sinking.  If Groce has lost the team, he won't find them on a bus to Ypsilanti.

Zips go cold from 3.  EMU packs it in on Freeman.  Hurons by 15+.  (These games are starting feel like Arth football.  I don't see where they can improve in order to correct this other than Trimble or maybe X getting hot from 3).
