How was our shooting today? How did the newcomers look?

I like what I am seeing. A little sloppy and chaotic at times, but the Zips ran 11 players with every lineup variation imaginable. And I do mean running. Or at least pushing an up-tempo pace.

Ali, Hunter, N.Johnson and Dawson appeared to be shooting well. The bigs are playing more away from the hoop. And besides Enrique being his usual awesome self, he hit a nice midrange. I agree with @Blue & Gold Thornton plays a nice point, but he struggled finishing at the rim yesterday. True Freshman Baker is playing great. He had a few rookie passing mistakes, but he has solid body control and footwork already. And the game doesn’t seem to be too much for him at this stage. I think it was a very successful scrimmage/team building opportunity. They all showed moments of promise over the 3 games. Disappointed that Prather Jr. and Musiime-Kamali didn’t see the court, but they were at least in attendance and in good spirits.

Go Zips!!!

The 2 scholly players not seeing the court HAS to be injury situation right? The walk ons even got in every game I believe.

I believe that is the rumor. I hope it’s only minor injury related, but it could be disciplinary or someone is not committed to playing hard defense. I am only disappointed, it’s too early to be concerned.

It is injury situations for a bit of time.

A bit... As in they'll be ready for the beginning of the season?

I am very intrigued by both players, as their respective sizes and skill sets would really provide some nice versatility and depth.

I'm also assuming Mus is in line for a redshirt, so my above statement applies a bit more to Prather.

Is there a reason we don’t play KSUcks for the last game of the regular season any longer? They did that last year too.

No idea but would've loved it this year, if for no other reason than to break up the Buffalo-KSUcks-Toledo-Ohio gauntlet in February. Goodness that's a stretch from Hell.

I can't be sure, but I strongly suspect it comes from the same advanced line of thinking that has the Zips playing PCCC in football on a Wednesday night.  D!p$h!+$.

It does no good to have to play them our last game of the season knowing we’ll have to go thru them again to win the conference tournament. We know it’s most likely going to be a dog fight so it’s better to space the games out.

Only 1 MAC rivalry game to end the season (OU-Miami) ... I think NIU, EMU, WMU is great to end the season as none of those teams will be in the MAC Tournament ... good time for roster tweeking, if needed.

Also, don't understand why folks feel Buffalo is a team to be worried about??? ... Bowling Green, however, is another story.

The schedule has been finalized. The staff did a great job. Added a well known opponent for what could be a fun road trip. Expect an official announcement soon.

I want Cedarville or Muskingum!

Please post the final schedule when it drops.  Thx
