Game 1 Temple

Still many of the same old issues, along with a few positives. Penalties and 3rd downs, like I said, are always crucial. Zips were dreadful in both categories. Turnover battle too, lost it late. Defense not quite good enough to force big plays in the form of TFL and TOs, but they do look much better.

If I’m being optimistic, which I still am, we’re way ahead of where we were at this point last year. Of course, I hoped for more today. Especially after that 2nd play. Still 11 more of these things, hopefully they keep a short memory and make some adjustments on offense. Go Zips!

From his accuracy, to his arm strength, to his leadership, to his sideline body language, Irons isn't the guy.

He has never won and he isn't going to win.

Decision-making has always appearred S-L-O-W to me as well. That looked too much like same-ol'-Akron, especially the second half.

Did anybody know that DJ had surgeries on both shoulders?

I didn't know and I don't care. The next opponent gives Akron an extra week to get someone else ready, assuming there is any competence behind him. T

The guy has been around long enough. He does nothing.

It was so frustrating to me that Joe continued to stick with Irons when it clearing wasn’t working. Overthrows, throws behind, and then that pick. Ugh!

I'm ok with him sticking with him this week, but not next week.

Its not so much of DJ looking bad its his leadership which i saw none, all i saw was him fussing with players and coaches on the sideline blaming everybody we need a leader!

After one of his sacks he was furious. I thought maybe he was yelling at the refs for a missed holding or facemask. Instead he was yelling at teammates.

I feel bad for him. After all he's a college kid who had two surgeries that probably ruined his throwing arm. It has to be frustrating, but I think the best move is to find another option.

Is this groundhog day?  We have been seeing this year after year.  How are we going to blow the game?  How many of you knew that after the commentator indicated that the Zips line had improved and had not given up a sack that a sack was coming on the very next play?  Or our punt returner who was catching everything was going to let the last punt go and it would go out of bound on the 4 yard line?  Or that DJ would find some way not to finish the drive?  (Pick one: interception, fumble, missed or blocked field goal or out or downs).  Or that a Zip would commit some stupid penalty to end any chance of a come back?  I am so glad we are competitive and the defense played so well, when will it translate into a W?

In a bit of symbolism my shoes fell apart leaving Lincoln Financial Field as badly as the Zips in the second half. 🤣

Nice kicks

Mad I recently reached out to the AD for a current pair and he basically blew me off even after i told him I would give a donation on top of the price smh

Pathetic how its still a challenge to get Zips athletic gear.
