What is the issue with Ali Ali?  I assumed he could play this year when he signed with Akron.  You would have thought somebody would have checked on that.

I'd have to think it arises from his  2 transfers in two years.  I understand Bandaogo is going to have to sit out the year at Cincy for the same thing.

I don't get the drawn out nature of these things.  It's not like the kid showed up yesterday.  I also wonder if a player can grad transfer mid-season as I understand he has 8 hours left to finish his degree which he is doing now.

Well if his degree isn't finished, then the potential of him not being available right away makes sense. I wouldn't expect him to be eligible until after this semester is over.

The NCAA is such a clown show that wants to be a professional organization so badly.

With that being said, I'm not sure I understand accepting Ali Ali back without 100% certainty he can play this season - all season. Not exactly a great look when his first time around left a sour taste in people's mouths.

You'd be surprised how short the typical fan's memory is after someone puts up a nice stat line in their first game back.

I believe I read Mirambeaux isn't eligible at least until after fall semester due to grades.

The MAC is considered a 'guards' league ... but interesting that teams with the best 'proven returning guards' are picked third and fifth by the coaches.  ... I believe Akron is a certain title contender, but with talented but unproven guards and still undetermined Ali Ali situation, the closer it gets to the start of the season the more uneasy it all seems.

Interesting: Coaches see Zips as dominant with 11 first place votes and a 17-point spread between first and second place. Next biggest spread is 8-points between No. 5 NIU and No. 6 BG/Miami. Basically a top and bottom league.

The MAC is an experience league. Typically the most experienced team wins in the end (i.e. Kent last year). Akron has won the league numerous times with a solid backcourt but better front court. Fundamental guard play is needed, but experience reigns supreme.

when asked to give name, athletic year, home town and major, Dawson answered Junior. Probably a senior or more academically.
