All an advertiser should care about is total number of viewers, which is theoretically higher if more alumni bases have vested interest. Also, the average person gets tired of seeing the same teams featured and winning; I sure do.

There's all sorts of politics, backroom deals, etc., that go into this. We're talking about one of the most corrupt organizations in the world. Gotta keep that circle tight.

Of course. All I am saying is that, politics aside, business logic dictates that the more fan bases engaged, the more theoretical viewers (customers), thus maximizing profit. But then again, I saw a NCAAT style playoff being great for college football, yet it still took decades to evolve beyond the traditional bowl model into a limited playoff system that expanded slowly. Adding all D-1A conference champions is the only sensible next step.

I completely understand your argument and I'm with you. In a perfect world, the NCAA would focus on competitive balance, balanced revenue, balanced conferences, etc. The NFL has proven that a balanced competitive model creates the most financially lucrative product. Too bad the suits are too focused on lining their own pockets.

One thing I love about these Zips is that everyone on the team is involved and having fun.  Guys like Gray and Wilson have been here for  a short period of time but they are right in the middle of the mix.  Seth is leading the team in the huddle before they come out.  Seth is putting the Akron name as the winner on the bracket board.  No sulking, no outsiders.  From Nate Johnson to Connor Groce they're all in and happy for each other.  That's TEAMISM.

I watched the end of the Michigan UC San Diego game last night and San Diego got the lead with about 3 minutes left in the game after coming back from a 15 point deficit.  However, the Michigan point guard nailed a clutch 3 pointer and then the Michigan 7 foot center picked up some clutch rebounds and the opportunity for the upset was gone.

It just reminded me that the Zips have to do everything right to win this game and Arizona has to do some things wrong for the Zips to win.  Michigan kept San Diego in the game , they shot around 50% from the line and missed the front end of some one and ones.  They also missed several shots around the rim.

The Zips need to rebound and not have a repeat of what happened against St. Marys.  We also have to shoot the 3 ball well, 40% or better and move the ball well to hit the open man for the 3.  San Diego ran screens  forcing the 7 footers to cover their quicker guards.  It worked and they were able to penetrate based on speed.  Although we do not have Freeman, I like our chances better than last year because we are a better shooting team and our guard play is much better than last year.  Go Zips!!!

Ohio.com article by Brad Bournival today about Shaka Smart and his love for Akron and Keith Dambrot.  No mention about how he poured it on after the VCU/Akron game was long over.  I've liked Marquette since the Al McGuire days of my youth but I'll never root for them as long as they're coached by that disingenuous little troll.

I also think that Creighton team was better than this Arizona squad.

Let's take this program to a new level! Go Zips!

Seems like things are kind of percolating right? Finally got some buzz, sustained conference success, good kids on the team, the culture, finally some good marketing.. We're right there if we want to take the next step. Today would be a good day for it
