You typed all that out just to further my point. Their win @ Wright State is better than any of our wins. In fact, it very well might end up being a Q2 win come March. Their NET is better than Iona and Miami got their win on the road while we got ours on a neutral court. They also have 2 Q3 wins to our 1.

I'm not saying they're better. I'm more pointing out the fact we also just beat up on cupcakes during OOC play (evident by the fact all but 1 of our wins were Q4 wins). The better teams we played we lost to. We also played a very weak OOC schedule (#252 per kenpom). Not as weak as Miami who had the 4th worst (#362), but still nothing to brag about.

Ragging on Miami's schedule is independent of Akron's schedule. Miami didn't even try to schedule tougher competition. Nobody is bragging about Akron's schedule outside of the margin of victory, which is far greater than Miami's margin of victory vs. even lesser competition. The ragging will continue. Miami is in for a rude awakening come MAC play I feel.

I look at all those Q4 wins for the Zips and it makes me scratch my head. The names of those programs are far from what I think of as programs that are typically Q4…

hopefully a bunch of them build their numbers going foward.

Does anyone know why the big Serb, Stankovic, has not been getting much PT?  Is he in the dog house?

Imagine showing up in a foreign country just before the beginning of training camp. You barely speak the language. All the other players have been part of the program for month or even years. Everything is different. The food, intense practices like you have never experienced with a demanding coach, classes in subjects you never imagined and not to mention American women everywhere! I would call that culture shock!

Milwaukee beat South Dakota State!

As they should. I know South Dakota State is top 200 NET, but they almost lost to Balls. Watching their game vs Balls, I was not impressed.

Good for us regardless!

I realize we are well into the season so a single game isn’t going to move the Kenpom needle drastically, but we scored right around our average and did much better on defense yet our ORtg ticked up a couple spots and our DRtg didn’t move at all. 🧐 🤔 😔

UMASS opens their first conference game with a 10 point loss to Kent State.

OU down by 15 mid-way through the 2nd to BG. Have to think this might be Boals’ last season with the program if it keeps trending this way.

I certainly hope not. I like him there and Tod at Toledo. Two fewer teams that we have to worry about come March.

Still a lot of MAC games to go. Based on MAC history, if UMass is indeed a top tier MAC team, a road win there will carry some weight in the standings down the stretch. Don't think Zips have to worry about that, and Kent already has come out of Amherst standing, but until the likes of Miami, Toledo, Buffalo or any other MAC contender walks out of there standing I'll take UMass at home most nights.

As for Boals and TK ... still too early to write either of them off. Expect both to be above .500 on the season, albeit barely. The hot seat turns up next season, when their roster management/adjustment will be exposed as they try to improve.

Also. If BG builds up a head of steam, they could be a darkhorse in this race by the end of January.

Just my opinion.

KSUcks' Gillespie had 18 & 20 vs. UMass today 👀

Thats a grown man game. Have to give Pinkie credit in one area - he tends to always have a flat out baller on his team.
