You can see it better in this video. Look how many Akron fans there are. Unbelievably good showing from the Zips faithful. Toledo is 1.5 hours from Cleveland and that crowd was probably 80/20 Akron.

What fun night. Zips Nation showed out, at least 80% Akron fans there and probably the biggest crowd that I can remember there since maybe 2010 ish vs OU. Good times. Easy to root for this group

For a guy whose team just lost on a last second shot I thought he did not act like a jerk.  He brought out the fact that we had 5 seniors.  I thought Toledo played really well.  I thought his players also brought out the fact how the Zips wanted this game.  As a Zips fan who has seen Scott make that shot numerous times, I know it was not luck but I can certainly understand his feelings and disappointment.

agree.  give Tod some grace.Toledo played very well.  they didnt fold like so many others have with the Zips.  zips made their own luck by winning 3 close title games in final 10 seconds and the quarterfinal Buffalo game in 2022.

Groce continues to live rent free in this guy’s head. While I think some of the media questions were ridiculous, Tod just can’t contain how much he loathes Groce/Akron. But you can see that he’s learning. Groce is making him a better coach, but he’ll never admit it. Get old and stay old, seniors play harder because the end of their career is on the line. And experienced players don’t typically make the mistake Kent State made 2 years ago. Indiana won a championship in football with an extremely old roster. Yes Tod, culture matters. Play retention matters. Todelo is a very good team and they might be the pre-season favorite next year and if he does finally win a MAC Tournament Tod will have Groce to thank. But he’s clueless if he thinks Scott’s shot and the final shot were equal in difficulty. Scott has proven himself in that exact situation all season long. Toledo’s final heave miraculously hit iron. Scary close to be honest.
