  3. He provides a lot of money for UA scholarships through the I Promise LJ Family Foundation (https://www.lebronjamesfamilyfoundation.org/i-promise-institute/#university-of-akron) But I know you're talking about sports and I agree it would be nice if said billionaire could make a life-changing contribution to the athletic dept.
  4. $1 beers is an incredible deal. Kind of sad not even that can get a few hundred people to show.
  5. OMW in the morning!
  6. https://www.riverhounds.com/news/2026/03/02/mitch-budler-signing/ …Budler, 23, was a four-year starter for the Zips, recording 36 clean sheets and allowing only 65 goals across 76 starts on his way to being a two-time Big East Goalkeeper of the Year and a Third Team All-American as a junior in 2024. With Budler in goal, the Zips won the 2022 Mid-American Conference regular season title and reached the NCAA Tournament three times, advancing all the way to the Elite Eight last fall. “Mitch is a first-year pro out of the University of Akron with tremendous upside, and we believe he’ll make significant strides this year working under goalkeeper coach Jon Busch,” Sporting Director Dan Visser said. …
  7. Won't be too difficult to find matches. Not sure what this says about me that I'm actually watching this game. Btw, no Josiah Harris for CSU. Not sure if he got hurt in their last game. This is a really pathetic basketball game. CSU was up by 14 and are only up by 3 now after they turned it over on an inbounds violation for running on the baseline without a previously made basket. 3 straight turnovers by CSU on inbounds plays.
  8. Today
  9. I think we'll need a link with a source to discuss this further. And then probably in its own thread
  10. If someone broke the microphone of the woman who does the Zips on-court MC-ing, would the fine be similar? Asking for a friend.
  11. He didn't have the decency to apologize after the game, or call on Saturday? An apology didn't occur until today, which was probably a stipulation with the $2500 fine to avoid further punishment. What a "leader."
  12. Zips are favored by 12.5 with an O/U of 160.5
  13. Amen, what a likable kid.
  14. My take home: After watching two interviews and Evan's play this season, Gross, Evan needs to be a GA for next year!!! Even if has a chance in Europe, don't let him get away! Evan will help us attract and mold the type of men we want to represent the Zips. DON'T LET HIM SLIP AWAY! I'm to far away; or I would be there for senior night.
  15. Yesterday
  16. Everything one reads on the internet and the speculation and assumptions that follow are always true.
  17. I would hate to see it happen, but if Groce has an itch to test his luck at a P5 programs there isn't much we can really do. I would hope Dustin Ford would be in consideration as the next coach in such a doomsday scenario. Considering Oats coach looks secure in Alabama and no way any of us would want Hurley, I can't imagine there being another Groce falling into our laps.
  18. John Groce is Goodrich’s primary selling point
  19. Played around with the simulator a bit. 5 teams are vying for those final 2 spots. Kent, Toledo, Ohio, and BG are pretty well locked into that order. EMU, CMU, Balls, UMass, and Buffalo are all sweating. Tomorrow night is the most excited I've been in quite some time for non-Akron MACtion.
  20. Cuse will be looking for a basketball coach this offseason most likely
  21. He is now being reported as one of three finalists with the AD to be named before the start of the ACC tournament. So I’ll guess we’ll know soon enough.
  22. again, who cares. If they get an at large (or don't) it's because we beat them. I'm cool either way.
  23. This is why the best they deserve at-large wise is Dayton.
  24. Texas still doesn’t know how the NCAA will rule on Seymore’s waiver
  25. agree with LGZ. Couldn't care less how MAC looks or what is good for them. Evan engaged in far less egregious behavior and was ejected from a game. However, this had the desired results for Travis: attention, brand-building, and further inducement for the Miami fan base.
  26. I could care less about how the MAC looks. The MAC does enough to embarrass themselves, including their handling of this situation. However, I'm tired of the kid glove treatment of Miami OH this year. Schedule, officiating, opponent mistakes - everything has favored them this year. If Steele is ejected in that WMU game, do they win? If he's suspended for tomorrow night, do they lose?
