  4. Nate probably put in a good word.
  5. Nate commented "ZIP GO ZIPPERS" on his IG post committing to Akron. I imagine he put in a nice word on Akron and Ford.
  6. Now where does Sharron land? Did he show enough to get to get WVU's attention? Marshall? Follow JG to Charleston?
  7. Original post is updated!
  8. oh man I thought I was done reading this stuff like 4 years ago
  9. 1) It's a virus. 2) That death toll number is as fake as hair on Rob Senderoff's head. Did 1.2M Americans die in that timeframe? Maybe. Was COVID the direct cause of 1.2M deaths? Heck no. Improper treatment, misclassified cause of death (flu deaths plummeted somehow despite being in the same family of virus), etc. are all plausible, but it's taboo to critically think and discuss this topic. 3) The real death toll may end up being the middle class and schools like the University of Akron. Time will tell. I stand by what I said - neither Acton nor Vivek will have UA's best interests in mind.
  10. Sad to see a "rafterable" player leave so soon, but that's the way it will be for the rest of our lifetimes. I saw worthless talking head Clark Kellogg state "The mid-majors are losing their veteran players to P4 programs, but they're getting a better caliber of Freshmen than ever before. So it's a wash." You know what they say when a Freshman redshirts? "You're trading your worst year for your best (5th) year." The Zips now get a Freshman for his worst year, and P4 programs get him for his best years. Definitely a "wash." 🙄
  11. Not sure if this comment is serious or sarcasm because there have been some complaints about every signing thus far.
  12. People will be happy I'd imagine.
  13. Today
  14. No mention of who it is anywhere I've looked.
  15. Sad to see him go, but he ended up where I expected he would.
  16. Eric Mahaffey to Cincy.
  17. Are we all back up and running now? Lol seems like the site was down for a while. Anyways, Coach Ford tweeted the Kangaroo GIF again so it appears we got another commitment but I haven't heard any news on who it might be.
  18. A security update was yesterday. The update caused some issues that have been fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  19. Yesterday
  20. Ah yes, the disease that killed over 1.2 million Americans was proven to be a farce.
  21. I remember a group of KD's players were at Groce's introductory press conference. I was super bummed at the time and honestly that gave me a little bit of hope. Pretty sure they all transferred lol.
  22. I missed that. Ugh!!
  23. Ryan Sabol to Providence. https://x.com/i/status/2044487251204161976
  24. Didn't realize this, but Jay Shunnar is married to Cayleifh Griffin, who works on both the Cavs and T-Wolves TV broadcasts. Never hurts for Akron to get some additional exposure.
  25. I am a life long Republician and there is NO WAY I would ever vote for Vivek after his simplistic attitude towards higher education. Simply put, The University of Akron is now stronger academically than ever in its history. The strength of undergraduate/graduate programs in Engineering, Business, Nursing, Law, Psych, Speech Audiology, and even unheralded programs like Geology and PoliSc/Law are numerous (I have left out some other strong programs just for brevity). How many schools can boost the world's best program in any discipline? Admittedly The University bears some responsiblilty for not promoting itself as much as it should have given its strengths but the facts are still the same. In addition, The University is doing an excelllent job of producing "career-ready" graduates- not everyone but some of that blame is on the students for not taking advantage of opportunities provided by UA that are essential in today's more difficult job market. It is inexcusable for any public figure to take such a sophomoric rather than qualitative view of Universities. He has lost this Republician vote forever. I would rather be Forever A Zip!
  26. This is correct. One outing that benefitted all sports.
  27. I'll throw this out there - Amy Acton isn't the answer either. For as stupid as Vivek's comments are, Amy Acton was largely responsible for the totalitarian COVID shutdowns which severely harmed the University of Akron. Whatever anyone wants to think about the preventative measures at the time, it has since been proven just how big of a farce/scam COVID was and Acton led the charge with her totalitarian shutdowns. Neither candidate will have UA's best interests in mind, and Casey Putsch walks around with nuts on his head so he's questionable, too. Akron's mayor sucks, Cleveland's mayor sucks, Ohio's current governor sucks, Ohio's future governor candidates suck... Ohio politics are in the absolute crapper at the moment.
