  1. Past hour
  2. Groce knows he has a team that can push the MAC's traditional ceiling when it comes to seeding. Margin of victory matters, hence why we're not dribbling out the clock until the very last possession in these blowouts. Iona was previously 4-1, having beaten Princeton by 20, Fordham, Kansas City, and Hofstra. They just dropped to 176 in KenPom with the loss, but have had a solid start to their 1st season under the new HC. Akron is up to 74 in KenPom and can really start making some moves with likely Oregon State and either Yale or Charleston left in this tournament, plus Milwaukee, Tulane, and Murray State coming up. That was quite the performance despite about 7-10 minutes of less than stellar play. Eric Mahaffey's best game, Young rebounded nicely, Tavari really got everything started, and Evan was all over the place. This team is just so impressive.
  3. I thought we play Sunday at 9pm?
  4. Bummer. No free tacos tonight.
  5. 6:30 tomorrow Zips fans.
  6. @Blue & Gold, you watched Eric Mahaffey in high school. Did you see this coming? I mean, 20 pts tonight as a freshman?
  7. Miami narrowly beat Mercyhurst (NEC) last night 76-71. I live in Erie and have been following Mercyhurst since they jumped up to D1 last season. They already beat Loyola Chicago and seem to have a solid team this year. They took the lead over Miami with 90 seconds left, but couldn't hold on. Would have been great to see them pull off the upset.
  8. Yeah but where are they? Oh yeah, paradise! Also, quick “Teamism” note. If you’re on this team, you’ll roll with your crew anywhere.
  9. He has looked slow tonight. Almost like he’s sick or something.
  10. Lyles fouled out with 7:08 to go.
  11. Today
  12. What a great answer after their run to end the half
  13. Eric going end to end for the dunk was sweet!!
  14. Yesterday
  15. Young Mahaffey is balling. I’d say living up to the hype.
  16. Eric doing some growing up tonight.
  17. We're still pretty good
  18. Beto Ydrach and his Pittsburgh Riverhounds teammates will play for the USL championship on Saturday afternoon on network TV. Beto has had a tremendous rookie year. I believe that he has started every game ...except for when he was playing for the Puerto Rico national team. I believe that he is 3rd in minutes played on the team. He leads their center backs in a key category. https://www.uslchampionship.com/news_article/show/1350266 I am only allowed to post a few key tidbits from the article. Please click on the article above. At one point, there are 3 full paragraphs about the new kid, Beto Ydrach. Congratulations, Beto on an incredible rookie year. I will be watching CBS tomorrow and hope that Beto can lead the hounds to the league title excerpts from article: (Beto is also quoted at the beginning of the article and is also quoted about his friendships on the team - click the link!!!...go, Hounds, go Beto !!! Ydrach, meanwhile, has been one of the league’s rookie breakouts and a staple in the lineup. At 24-years-old, the former University of Akron defender is a unique first-year pro, with the experience of having made his debut and earned regular minutes for the Puerto Rico National Team in Concacaf competition while competing collegiately for the Zips and previously at the University of Central Florida. Ydrach may be the rookie in the squad, but his +5.73 Goals Added mark leads the club’s center back group.

  19. Doesn’t our radio guys usually travel to these holiday tournaments?
  20. Well, the announcers are there.
  21. Terrible close to the half. 11-0 run by the Gaels. Ugh!!
  22. We might be pretty good
  23. That put back slam from Evan...
  24. Early in the season, but this team feels like it has the chance to be Groce’s best team yet..
  25. Don’t know the stats, but I imagine we need to improve our free throw shooting. Otherwise, we have found our flow.
