I'm pleasantly surprised. I thought they would have taken a ranked Miami just because they have that number next to their name.

Goodrich and 'Zips marketing' should work with BH to make it a great atmosphere for a watch party with good seating and viewing. It's a good location with easy access and parking in downtown.
-
The food is very average. Plus, I don't remember there being TVs other than at the bar, which is a small area. So, it wouldn't be a great watch party location. If they had TVs in the dining area, it could be because there's lots of room.

Class of '26 Verbal Commits and Offers/Discussion
ZippyDoo replied to Blue & Gold's topic in Akron Zips Football Recruiting
new tight end, Wyatt Hook, is on campus so both of the new guys are here. That should pretty much complete the offense. hopefully they get that chemistry rolling right away... -
I admittedly haven't been there in ~15 years. Normally if I'm downtown I go to Luigi's, Lockview, or one of the craft breweries.
-
Spaghetti Warehouse is garbage, even though it's one of the coolest places inside.
-
Oops, yeah I missed the word "minutes". Thanks for clarifying!
-
Maybe 22 minutes; not 22 points. He's a slashing guard who struggles to score.
-
I’m in Columbus for work later today and planning to make the quick hour-and-15 drive southeast. First game at OU, catch me behind the UA bench
-
I casually watched it on ESPN+. Attendance was listed as 893. Yeah, OK. 🙄
-
Do NOT trust @ClarkGriswold's friend Jeff Boals.

Enrique is active again in tonight's game that just started. Let's see if he gets any minutes!
-
Really should be a win but just screams a trap game. Going to Athens has always felt a bit cursed to me
-
I find this conversation ironic in that dring the KD days we would be having a conversation about Akron getting an at large bid and then we would lose a game against a weak team and the conversation would end. I am sure Miami will pick up a loss during the season and this conversation will end. However, I would love to see them go undeated and lose to Akron in the finals and have the MAC be a two bid confernce.

It's also worth noting that OU was without Javan Simmons (former Toledo player) in the last game and postgame Boals said "not sure if he'll be able to go" when referring to the Akron game. Also, guard Elijah Elliott has been out since earlier this month. Sounds like he may be back for this game but it's hard to tell. He averages 22 per game.

I know Athens is a tough place to play and we've lost the last 3 games there, as you said. But Ohio is also #223 in the NET Rankings (9th in the MAC), so it really should be and needs to be a win. As for the betting odds, the opening spread and O/U are exactly the same as the Buffalo game...Zips favored by 8.5 with an O/U of 169.5
-
For anyone who still cares, the home crowd was treated to another 20 point loss in conference play last night….. Directional Michigan 74 Zips 53
-
There’s never been a team denied an at large with <= 2 losses. It’s hard to not have any duds even if the schedule is easy. We should know that with some of our OOC blunders in years past
-
If it's on ESPNU, you can watch it on the ESPN app with a TV provider login, or if you have the new ESPN Unlimited.
-
Is there a streaming option to watch the game other than ESPN U?
-
I was referring to the general public. You said he attended football alumni events so I took it those were closed off events restricted to former players and coaches. Not the kind of stuff you see general press releases about or the ABJ cover.
-
The MAC is actually fairly strong this year. Last I saw it was ranked around 13th for conference strength. I would imagine it's still in the top 15.
-
I still don't think it's going to happen, but going 18-0 in MAC play would be worth an at-large. No team has gone undefeated in conference play in nearly 70 years and the MAC has seen some terrific teams during that time. That's not just a formula that you can easily replicate. I watched the end of both their games against UB and Kent and they appeared to have some bounces go their way. I don't feel they're some unbeatable juggernaut, like UB a few years ago (who ended up losing 2 MAC games), but if they achieve that feat they deserve credit.
