The Zips head to Cleveland next week for the MAC tournament. Rather than post individual game threads, we'll go with a tournament thread as we did last year. If someone could post the graphic of the brackets when it's available that would be great. 6:30 game next Thursday.

Bad publicity for the entire city causes them to salivate. When u open the beacon website...not a front page pic of Kent's team or God help us Sincere Carry. Instead a fired basketball coach accused of something that we really don't know what it is. Who coached a program they barely covered.

My biggest hopes for the tournament lie in the fact that coaching makes a big difference this time of year and the Zips have the best head coach in the MAC.

Can't feel great if you're a Trailer Park U fan, knowing you played a near perfect game and limited the MAC's top scorer to a near season low (maybe a season low?) and still needed OT to win at home on Senior Night.

He is worthless in traffic 99% of the time. The other 1% he looks like Kyrie Irving.

This board has given Sincere Carry a lot of criticism this year but he clearly outplayed X yesterday and his defense was exemplary. Also, I did not see him dancing a great deal and just a little mugging for the camera. The sportsmanship on the court was very good for both teams and I would be upset over the fathom call at the end of the game so I will give the Kent coach a pass on the T. I am hoping the 2 teams meet in Cleveland for round 3 between 2 very good guards and hope that X gets the better of him the next game.

Good luck to Coach Jackson. I hope she lands on her feet in a position that works best for her and her young family.

Relieved it's MIami and Groce's brother facing Toledo in first round as opposed to one of the horribles. Steele will put up a fight. 4. Everyone talking about a semi final re-match: STOP!!! One game at a time. Nothing is certain. 5. Miami played tough at Buffalo and in their last few games. Is Steele going to keep that massively out of shape Mirambeaux next year? 6. NIU blitzed EMU. 7. Toledo hasn't had a tough game in a long time. My $ is still on them.

Truth. I still don't like the guy. Maybe maturity was slower to develop then his handle and 10 foot floater. But we threw more than enough shade on Kent (as well as or own guys - heaven forbid someone has an off night). Give Carry credit, give Kent credit, they out played us last night. The only thing is even having been bested throughout the game we were right there at the buzzer. You gotta love that about these guys and for what that means our chances next week when we bring our best.

what's a photo shoot day? It is a unique opportunity to get recruits on campus. There is almost a limitless number of activities for the recruits. For example, some come to fire weapons at photos of things they dislike, others come to pose for glamour photos (you know, with one hand delicately touching their face). Older recruits (mostly portal transfers) come to have their photo taken as they compete in the shot drinking contest (no minors allowed). Some even don a Zips uniform and get their photo taken in it. But the whole photo shoot day is a double secret activity so don't tell anyone else about it.

Women rally 21-8 in 4Q to beat CMU 61-54. Probably not the first time a bad CMU team has failed to close this year, but credit to the Zips for coming back on the road.

There's a thread Hilltopper started which has a discount code. My understanding is that the cavs ticket holders can use their seats but most don't so when those open up that's the time to purchase.

I apologize. I just wait for the day the stadium is full for a football game. I get frustrated when I see the Suckeyes with a full stadium of cheering fans and we cannot get 5000 fans for a game. I have cousins from both sides of the family that got a degree from Akron and live locally and will not come to a game, even with free tickets and a free tail gate, and I put on a great tail gate. I will not give anymore thumbs down on this topic, but I hope we get a lot of season tickets. Go Zips!!!!

Saw this earlier today and got excited. No doubt in my mind Wasel is going to put up big numbers once his mechanics are cleaned up. No one better in Ohio to assist with that than Brad Maendler.

As much as I usually hate losing to the Golden Flushes, this one doesn't bother me that much. We whipped them in Cleveland last year and at the JAR earlier this year. Never folded tonight and took them to OT at their place. No reason we can't beat them in Cleveland next week if it happens. X needs to step up though. Carry really outplayed him tonight obviously.

At times we struggled on offense and on defense, but the effort was there. That will travel to Cleveland.

This loss does not bother me because it shows me that Hunter is a legitimate 3rd scorer and if he brings that to Cleveland we will be competitive in every game even against Toledo.

Get Clarke out of there. The game is too big/physical for him tonight.

Refs let them play in the first half and are calling everything this half.

Way too many defensive breakdowns tonight. Can't have those when the teams are so closely matched.

I wish Hunter had made that last open 3. It would have given us momentum going into the 2nd half. They are playing tough defense on X and he just cannot get an open shot.

He has had some nice passes while driving the lane. He just cannot finish at the basket tonight.

0 pts from X and only down 4. Gotta be ok with that. Their ticket system's definition of Sold Out must be wonky, too. If we can keep this close in the 2nd half, I feel some PCCC technical fouls coming. Akron is WAAAAYYYY more level emotionally.
