Oh bc Bronny is a terrible player and would never get drafted if he didn't ride his daddies coattails. Why do you think Bronny should possibly go ahead of Freeman? The guy averaged an abysmal 4.8 ppg in college. Freeman is light years better3 points

Watching that last night took me back to that awful draft year that the Cavs took Anthony Bennett with the first pick. What an unspectacular draft pool. I remember the good old days when guys got drafted for talent as opposed to potential.3 points

Celtics went with Scheierman (I would've too - can't believe he has lasted this long). Freeman will be a day 2 pick, tomorrow at 4pm on ESPN.3 points

Big time get for us. Syracuse was firmly after him. He took a round of OVs - with one of them being to Syracuse and finished his OVs with us. The staff apparently sealed the deal at that time. The Syracuse insiders at Rivals were all over this one and predicted the commitment to Akron yesterday.3 points

Congrats to Freeman. Great to see Akron on the draft board. Groce deserves a great deal of credit for giving him an opportunity to develop as a player and then developing a great relationship with him to keep him at Akron.2 points

LeBron hating has to be exhausting. Freeman is better than a lot of these players going before him, IMO. Not sure why anyone would focus on any one in particular. All I care about is Enrique getting picked and getting an opportunity.2 points

Why do we care where he goes in relation to Bronny? I just want him to get picked and go to a good situation.2 points

It's a bummer we didn't get JMU or App, but it's a decent team. Maybe after all the transfers are through they will be better this year than the other two. So now we have: @Arkansas State Northern Kentucky UNLV Neutral game vs Yale Neutral game vs either UTEP or Jacksonville State2 points

Dumb. Not sure how Akron & Toledo aren't playing JMU/App State. Arkansas State finished a solid 20-17, 11-7 in conference. They beat Louisville (a 4th grade CYO team could've beaten Louisville last year) and destroyed UAB. They also beat Ohio, at Ohio, by 13. This is a respectable opponent, I'm just shocked the MAC and Sun Belt aren't trying to capitalize o2 points

Fair enough. Sometimes I hyperfocus on the potential negative aspects of something because I can be a bit cynical. Because simple application of a blanket experience is not necessarily a replacement for something else. Take military service, a lot of states are offering accelerated degrees for secondary education giving experience credits for having served in the military; but what classes the replace are completely unrelated to whatever that person did in the military. Just because someone can prep a group of soldiers for a military exercise, does not mean they can easily manage a classroom of 30 middle-schoolers. It's a completely different skillset. States like Florida go ahead and give the waver for both classroom pedagogy and content to get them degrees faster; and they have the highest burnout amongst new teachers. I'm always hesitant, but I see your point, it seems like if it's used properly it's totally valid.2 points

Plus, it's a team on the rise. My worry was he would go to a team that may have a full G League team but he may start in G League, but could be a 2 way contract player. He'll be on a decent summer league team with Jerace Walker, Ben Sheppard (not sure if he'll play summer league), Furphy, & Newton. July 12-22 will be the summer league in Vegas.1 point

Perfect team to go to. Haliburton is a great person, and we might see Freeman get airtime on McAfee which would be good for his brand and Akron. He'll be coming back to Cleveland quite often.1 point

Exactly, I've seen multiple articles from the Cleveland Plain Dealer regarding Freeman.1 point

It's probably more likely that a school like Buffalo will emerge as another contender. They've shown a willingness to spend in the past. They just had their program derailed by a bad coaching hire.1 point

The Big East Championship was on FS1 last season. I think we will still be subjected to the high cost of the FloSports platform for the regular season.1 point

Some outlets did a follow up mock draft for tomorrow's round 2 and here's where they got Freeman going: Sports Illustrated - #39 to Memphis CBS Sports - #50 to New Orleans1 point

Charlotte has one of the worst highway systems of any major city. Note to Ohioans, it is worth the cost of the tolls to use the express lanes when traveling through on your way north or south.1 point

I feel many MAC schools have given up trying to compete in basketball. It will probably just be Akron, Kent, Toledo, and Ohio looking to contend. Everyone else seems to focus only on football.1 point

My thousands of hours spent in bars has allowed to observe different types of human behavior. Can I get a couple of credits for Sociology? This doesn't strike me as a good idea. At same time, my college transcript contains one credit hour for Varsity Football. I guess used smartly, it's a good idea.1 point
