Win to open MAC play, against OU on homecoming no less, would give the program some momentum and could be the start of “the turnaround”. From a talent perspective, OU is probably worse than last year and we’re a little better. We had a double digit lead at the half last year. OU should be the favorite, but this is a winnable game. I would be remiss if I also did not talk about Beto Ydrach. He is an absolute warrior. Georgetown really concentrated their attack ....using their left winger to attack the zips right back..... Beto was constantly in the right place.....and he battled all game against Georgetown's big, talented front line.4 points

the video of this goal does not give enough credit to Dyson Dyson made great run up the field short pass to Emil (Emil is such a good passer) emil one touch back to Dyson Dyson one touch to Malik Malik adjusted his footing and got his first goal great unselfish passing.....zips futbol4 points

Well, color us wrong. It was a short field, but a great drive. I wonder if anyone told Reghi that the great pass breakup by the Ohio Bobcat they kept talking about was a 10 yard pass for a first down3 points

Not going to pay for Flo until the next away game, so I get 3 away games and the tournament on one month's payment. So it will just be live stats for me3 points

I'd like to take some credit for this one. I have taken my wife to a number of Zips games (soccer, football, basketball) and the Zips have lost every single one. We were supposed to go to the Georgetown game but went out of town at the last minute. You're welcome. 🤣2 points

Aside from a fantastic punt that led to the nice TD and an okay scripted first drive, it's been a really inconsistent game. Zips can't run the ball or really do much on offense and the defense can't tackle.2 points

Man. It feels good to have someone who can actually make field goals.2 points

Zips soccer beats Georgetown on the road. Now its time to beat OU on the road, perfect Saturday timing2 points

Mitch Budler was absolutely phenomenal He had 2 one handed left handed saves that were out of this world. the first one was world class The Georgetown coach will definitely be voting for Mitch for Big East GK of the year Mitch also had 2 other pretty solid saves The zips had excellent defensive positioning on a corner kick....as Emil was on back line and saved a goal with a header out Right before Akron goal, Beto had a kick save on the right side that saved a goal. Georgetown easily could have scored 3 to 4 goals......but Akron was excellent defensively This was Mitch Budler's audition to be first team All American and he passed with flying colors it is impossible to describe....how good that Mitch Budler was today2 points

From gozips.com SERIES HISTORY Akron is meeting Georgetown for the fourth time in program history. The Zips lead the series, 2-0-1. In the last meeting between the two schools, Akron earned a 1-0 triumph past the seventh-rated Hoyas on Aug. 26, 2016.2 points

Solid win! On the road no less! Let's hope the line up and team play are figured out and that the rest of the season is more of what we expected!2 points

I would just like to see Akron play one game of decent football with no stupid mistakes or turnovers, decent pass protection, a decent run game and no questionable coaching decisions. If Ohio plays better than us, I can take the loss. But can we have one game where people on this board do not post, "what the heck (WTF)"?2 points

I always get a kick out reading Catdaddyp's review of how much playing time former Zips get with their new clubs. After reviewing all the transferred players I've come to the conclusion we didn't lose as much as what we gained thru the portal. Still I wish we could have held on to a few, especially RT Nate Williams. He would have improved our weak OL. I can't help but wonder how good our DB's would have been if Tyson Durant and Corey Thomas had stayed. We picked up good replacements, but depth is a luxury we need against this schedule. Overall, the talent is improving under JoMo and I believe that will continue if Jo hangs in there. Still, I hate losing good ones, but I can't blame them for wanting to play for winning programs and possibly have the chance to get NIL dollars, which I hate.2 points

I don't think them staying in the MAC is an option per NCAA rules. Your home conference is the one that your basketball program is in. It's my understanding that you can't be an affiliated FBS member in football to another conference if your home conference sponsors FBS football2 points

A slightly below average offense and the Zips win today. Unfortunately we have probably the worst offense in college football.1 point

Every year I keep hoping this team can turn it around but every year it is the same thing, bad football. This game it was the offense. Why Finley is still the QB is beyond me. He has been hit way too much to have any confidence. Tahj is a good running QB. Why not give it a try when you simply cannot run the ball. Not sure how I can watch this offense any more.1 point

Tahj has not shown a single bit of evidence that he can throw the ball effectively. But he needs to play. Finley has all of the bad traits of Jeff Undercuffler with none of the good ones.1 point

The commentator just doesn't understand the offensive genius This is "Charlie Weis Decided Schematic Advantage" level buffoonery on offense.1 point

The defense is still playing hard out there. Need any kind of offense.1 point

I say the same thing every Saturday and Sunday. Literally just hit open receivers, don't make dumb mistakes and tackle. It shouldn't be this difficult. But for some reason my teams just can't do the most basic stuff. We went from 10-7 and now it will soon be 21-10 in a blink of an eye.1 point

I have two wtf moments thus far, Finley's interception and the 7 points right before halftime where they moved the ball without one negative play.1 point

If I had a buck for every touchdown Akron gave up in the last 2 minutes of the half the last 10 years I would be a rich man. We have seen this over and over and over again.1 point

It is time for Tahj!! Finley has been hit too many times. Ever since he came up gimpy on the tackle he is looking not to get hit. Very slow and hesitant. Missed a wide open receiver.1 point

Same here, but I think most of the imbalance in shots came after our goal as a result of Georgetown pressing to get it back to level.1 point

Solid first half for the zips. Beto Ydrach was fantastic in the first half Hot, humid day...I would like to see some subs in the midfield (Maximus Barboto, Nicolas Beier) to start 2nd half Georgetown is really concentrating their attack on their left side (against RB Josh Hardin) hopefully, coaches can make some adjustments at half time to help on left side1 point

Warning!!!!! For those that subscribe, when you unsubscribe make sure you get an e mail confirmation. I had to pay for an extra month when I tried to unsubscribe after a Zips b ball tourney but it did not get confirmed.1 point

I shared this file a few weeks ago. It's the MAC'S most recent tax filing. It has all the information you need, including total payout for each MAC school. https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/310682486/202411369349308926/full1 point
