Game 25?  How is that possible?

NIU comes into the JAR Tuesday night to face the Zips on Enrique Freeman Night.  The Huskies come in at 5-20/1-11 and are coming off of an 89-83 OT loss at Ball State.

6'5" sophomore guard Quentin Jones continues to lead the Huskies with 16.5 ppg.  6'5" senior guard James Dent scores 13.8 ppg while also contributing 5.8 rpg.   They are 10th in offense and 8th in defense in the MAC.

Here's hoping Akron gets out to show Enrique some love.

Exactly.  Groce said something on a post-game about how these kids play as a team and a good play or shot is seen as the team's good play or shot.  These stats show it.

A rising tide lifts all boats. This squad embodies what can be so great and beautiful about basketball. A fist is stronger than five fingers. It's genuinely wonderful watching them thrive off of one another. No disrespect to NIU, but I truly hope we're able to give Enrique a show 😊

Who knew that when this board was created many moons ago that instead of talking about zones, presses, defenses, rebounding, and my favorite, terrible refs, we would be discussing over-under, parlays, and the money line.  Actually, I am fine with it since anything that draws interest in Akron basketball is a positive.  There is no question that gambling on college sports has drawn more interest in college sports.  There is a reason that ESPN is broadcasting almost every college basketball game this year no matter how bad the teams.  However, it does very little to put butts in the JAR and may even reduce attendance since it is so easy to watch tonight's game on ESPN instead of braving the cold to honor Freeman.  If anyone has any ideas how an interest on betting on the Zips could increase attendance, would love to hear them.

Sportsbook in the JAR!  (Which would be illegal).

I don't like that there's betting on college sports but I do like doing it.  I'm a very small time better.  A $10 bet is a big one for me.  I enjoy looking at the lines as it gives a sense of what the books think the public sentiment is on a game.

Even before legal sports betting was a thing in Ohio I always felt the lines were useful. Particular when you might not be familiar with an opponent.
