I wouldn't be surprised if we have a few commits before then. Evan, Seth Wilson, Okonkwo, and Josiah Harris were all signed before April 15th of their respective transfer year.

That's what I'm thinking, then they'll have players, a style/system, etc. to sell to the audience.

It was announced at the time of hiring that the introductory press conference would be at a later date.

 

He was made the head coach like a week before the Final Four and the portal opening. I don't think there is any hidden meaning behind the date. More that they preferred Dustin to focus on filling out his staff, meet with players to see where they stand, and formulate our approach to the portal.

And if he stays here this year, he gets a chance to showcase his talents and get Nate money next year + whatever we pay him this year. You likely only get one shot at a life changing payday in college. If you get multiple, you’re going pro and an extra million isn’t going to be a big difference in the grand scheme of things. Transferring to potentially bury yourself on a bench and limit yourself is risky.
