  2. W/ six wins they still wouldn't go bowling this year bc of the 885 APR in 21/22 that dragged the average. Maybe UA files an injunction and wins, maybe not. I agree JoeMo is part of the problem but I think there's deeper and bigger issues than just the HC. Maybe you're right, idk.
  3. That's not what I said. In fact, my point is that despite those hindrances, Akron is quite talented and should continue to be going forward. The new HS class is small but impressive. Talent retention is a problem, but every school is going through that. I don't know what you're referencing with the 6 wins, but this team had 5, hence why they aren't bowling. No matter how much anyone wants to dissect the problems with the program, the results on the field are directly tied to the head coach.
  4. Radio broadcast for me! Huge Game! Let’s go get it.
  5. I am sure many of you are much smarter than I am and i openly admit it. This is a pretty good article it is long but to me interesting and I think some of you may find it interesting. Walgren suggested the football team cut three players for poor academics and they didn't and then a fourth who had a gpa of .74 and they did not. It goes into depth for the reasoning and i'm not pointing fingers in agreement or disagreement just saying the article is well written and explains a lot. It also says at the end the ban "could continue into next year" but that is just a possibility. I am relying some of you brainiacs to translate a lot of this for me. I do think Mr Brown did a good job though.
  6. While 8 LOI is thin the quality is great. 247 isn't a sure fire site but Beals and Riggins are listed top 5 all time. Site seems to hit more than it misses. Fun to look back at some of these names. https://247sports.com/college/akron/season/2026-football/commits/
  7. The amount of laziness and sleeze that goes into college athletics is such a turnoff.
  8. Let 'em keep it. We play them Jan 3rd.
  9. Today
  10. And yet they received 2 votes in the AP rankings. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings
  11. Two of the most insane OCC schedules I have ever seen so far. No team on Miami's schedule is above .500. They are literally beating teams with 1 or 2 wins this season.

  13. So you think the multiple year bowl ban (even after six wins), lack of academic / training resources, and a small to non existent NIL pot is all coaching and doesn't limit talent coming to UA?
  14. You're really reaching for a comparison here. Here is what it boils down to. The constraints at Northwestern typically limit the talent on the field. The constraints at Akron do not. Northwestern has never been anywhere near talented enough to compete with Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, etc., which is what mad Pat's success at Northwestern much more impressive. Akron is as talented if not more talented than a good chunk of the MAC. At that point the spotlight gets put on the discipline and Xs/Os, which we have very much fallen short in both categories. That's a coaching problem. Period.
  15. I guess I'll be sitting this one out, which is fine. I have some holiday shopping I need to get done. I'll just listen to it on the radio while I'm out and about.
  16. Back with Minnesota
  17. I didn't look too far into it but it says on this page that you can purchase an "event pass" for $20. I assume you get to watch all four games for that price (there's 3 games after the Zips game). https://www.ballertv.com/events/jack-jones-classic-2025
  18. That public ivy thing was a brilliant marketing move. Not true, really, but effective. Miami isn't even one of the 59 or so R1 research universities, unlike a few other MAC schools. Unfortunately, Akron is (unfairly) considered a public nutsedge among many Ohioans.
  19. IMHO Northwestern is not a comparable example. However a School like Rice is. Even with their small enrollment, seem to have similar academic standards as Northwestern. They have more money then they know what to do with and the only Sport they cared about for years was Baseball. Now is seems like their Admin there is actually at least trying to care(or at least the illusion) that they care. We can even look within our own Conference with Miami if you like with them being a Public Ivy. To fix the problem, it has to start at the top
  20. Worst thing I've read today. https://support.baller.tv/hc/en-us/articles/8996313312013-Pricing-Live-Stream-Access I just googled how much is baller tv and it took me to this link. If the smallest plan is $44 there is no way I will be watching
  21. It was because of Alvin Davis.
  22. Both deal with structural barriers that make winning harder, just in different ways. Northwestern’s high academic standards limit who they can recruit, while Akron faces a litany list of issues — a postseason ban, limited resources, inadequate support for football, and almost no NIL. These issues impact Akon more-so than any other MAC program. So criticizing Fitzgerald for not winning big at Northwestern ignores the constraints he coached under, just like judging JoeMo without acknowledging Akron’s situation SOMEWHAT misses the point and I am far from a JoeMo Stan BUT I think we face greater issues (that AD Goodrich is already working on). Akron beating Northwestern wasn't because Fitz was a bad coach (at least in my opinion).
  23. I think this game is on baller TV. Bleh
  24. Here's the number for Victim Assistance- (330) 376-0040.
  25. Just jumping in to say that this season was a pleasant surprise and the post season run was incredible. You could see the on- field chemistry. So gutted for the guys. If the ending was hard to see as a fan, quadruple that feeling for the players. And I don't blame Stefan one bit for continuing what was working for him - how many PKs did he successfully convert prior to this one? No player has a 100% conversion rate even at the pro level. Eventually, an attempt will be saved or will go wide or high. As for the SLU game ...sheesh...as long as I've been watching soccer (a long time) and playing (maybe too long) I can't recall that many unfortunate occurrences in a single match over such a short time period and to such detrimental effect. Lady luck must have been on a cruise. These are the types of games that can propel a group forward. I'm happy to hear that the incoming class is talented. That taken with the now experienced returners should produce another good year. Congrats to the players and coaching staff for getting Akron soccer back on the map. Onward and upward!
  26. Bad time for an “I told ya so” but I wince every time Stefan takes a PK. Sure, he still makes most of them but a good goalie like SLU’s won’t fall for the stutter. pic from VCU game thread
  27. That'll be a Q3 win at worst and maybe even a Q2 win if Tulane can l pull things together. Regardless, winning by nearly 20 at Tulane will show well all year.
