  2. Since I grew up in Stow, I obviously love the Zemanski jersey behind Coach Embick in this video. and I always love to hear @fknbuflobo tell the story about how Caleb Porter's first action as Akron U. head coach was to travel to Stow, Ohio. Ben Zemanski had committed to play soccer for Akron when Lolla was the coach. Caleb went to sit down with Ben Zemanski and Dan Zemanski to convince them that Akron was still the best choice for Ben's college career. Ben Zemanski was a great midfielder and he was a building block on those excellent teams from 2006-2009.

  4. Is thar even the MAC's call?
  5. I honestly prefer it. One can attend the game without having to take the day off work. Besides the Big 10 Championship, which is what the MAC locals would care about, doesn't start until 8PM. There is plenty of time between them that someone could watch both. The MAC does a lot wrong, but having both the football and basketball championship games on Saturdays is the one thing they get right IMO.
  6. More stupidity by the MAC. Watching the SBC and AAC Championships tonight, they have a pretty captive audience. What does the MAC do!? Schedule our Championship right against all the Power Conferences. Geniuses. This s#%it shouldn't be that hard.
  7. I hope UGA gets it. NIL can't only be a one way deal in favor of the athlete.
  8. If it makes anyone feel better, three of Kent’s five all-conference selections have already announced they’re heading to the portal.
  9. Congratulations to Zips Alum / 2025 USL Championship champion Beto Ydrach on returning with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in 2026.
  10. Georgia seeks $390K from DE Damon Wilson for transfer damages https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47212583/georgia-seeks-390k-de-damon-wilson-transfer-damages
  11. I agree. Gant and Laventure should have been first team. It looks like the first team DL is actually four defensive ends and no tackles. I’m also surprised DeWalt didn’t get a mention. Had we won more games, he probably would have. Though six selections is about right for a five win team. Glad to see K.Davis make it.
  12. I don't disagree, but I suspect teams are only looking at the tape when talking to guys.
  13. With NIL, why are scholarships needed at all?
  14. Actually, SLU leads the series history 7-5-1 and 2-0-0 in the NCAAT ('71 and '75). Time to claw another one of those losses back! We are 3-0-1 against them in the past four matches. https://gozips.com/news/2025/12/5/mens-soccer-akron-hosts-saint-louis-in-ncaa-tournament-quarterfinals https://gozips.com/news/2025/9/22/mens-soccer-akron-hosts-saint-louis-in-top-25-showdown
  15. Can they take the directional Michigan's with them?
  16. I think that this paper.....is very near Jared's home town (Granite City) https://www.thetelegraph.com/sports/article/slu-akron-elite-eight-ncaa-soccer-embick-kalish-21219014.php
  17. That would be fine by me. How nice will it be to shed the dead weight that is NIU next year?
  18. Does a football program really need 105 scholarships? I don't think so. The college game has been great at 85. It seems to me that the SEC and Big Ten are hell bent on spending their opposition into oblivion. I do believe that these two conferences want the rest of the D1 schools out of the big TV revenue picture. They will formalize the existing feeder system the other programs are to them and have their own national champion. A by-product of their greed will be that they kill fan interest in college football. When the fans turn off their TV's the money will no longer be there. It will take a decade or two, but I believe it will happen. For me, I'm OK will a G5 champion. The sooner the better.
  19. SEC voted to increase scholarship limit to the max 105. https://x.com/RossDellenger/status/1996970791192219853?s=20
  20. I feel at least one of those bottom 5 teams will find their way to Cleveland. Not that they will be good, but that they will sneak in with a 7th or 8th seed. Personally, I'd find it hilarious if it was at UMass expense given how their fanbase ragged on the MAC as if they were too good for it when it was announced they were leaving the A10. They really thought they were going to come in and buy their way to the top.
  21. Updated conference NET as we head into the weekend slate... 44 Akron 62 BUGS 97 Toronto South Campus 113 Miami OH 142 PCCC 160 Toledo 171 EMU 197 UMass (they did it! top 200; insert Buddy the Elf congratulating them) 262 Ohio 290 WMU 308 CMU 313 NIU 346 Balls Yes there will be the usual carnage in MAC play, but there is a clear separation between the top 8 Cleveland-bound teams and the rest. Seeing Ohio with "the rest" will always make me laugh. Imagining a world where "O clap clap clap H clap clap clap I clap clap clap O clap clap clap" isn't played during any of the games in March gives me hope.
  22. Feeling for @Cykron
