Yes this wasn't a "big win" but it was an excellent performance imo
-
I had over 159.5...it ended up 159.
-
It was built in 1933
-
Was worried that we were going to struggle but we won by enough in my opinion. I know Tulane isn’t great but we’ve been so bad in true road games OOC I’ll take it.
-
So the Big East had two chances to get to the College Cup and got neither. The College Cup will be a 15 seed, a 16 seed, and two unseeded teams. St Louis last won in 1973, and none of the other three have ever won a national championship.

I think the outlook for 2026 Zips Men's Soccer is bright. This was a very successful season. Qualifying for the exclusive 4-team Big East Tournament by winning the last regular season game on the road at Xavier and getting to the NCAA Elite 8 are huge accomplishments. I feel awful that our seniors - Mitch Budler, Daragh Reilly, Ashton Kamdem, and Stefan Dobrijevic - who have done so much for us and deserved a trip to the College. Thank you all for your time at Akron. It has been a pleasure watching and supporting you all. BEST WISHES!!! Once a Zip Always a Zip!!! See you around! -

Better Zips teams than this one did not make it this far. We have been lucky this postseason. The pain comes from the knowledge that this is the year when somebody is going sneak off with the CCup.. it could have been us. -

Not going to happen now. They have been eliminated too. -
I find it funny when they talk about Akron's magic number for scoring being 85. Almost any team would win every game if they scored at least 85.

My over 163.5 bet is in peril!

The portal hasn’t been too bad for us in recent years. If we can keep most of the talent that isn’t graduating I still think we can build upon this. Maybe a new stretch like the mid 2010s -

Wow….a disappointing game, more like a disappointing half. I am not usually positive but if you would have told me that Akron would make it to the elite eight at the beginning of the year, I would have been elated. Soccer is a brutal sport. The best team doesn't always win. The dominant team doesn’t always win. Losing any player would have been tough but losing Dreas was a backbreaker. He is a wonderful player and is able to do some much for the team. I hated the style of our penalty kick (see my post above) but at the end of the day - if we played with 10 men for any length of time we were going to lose. It just is tough because the bracket really broke Akron’s way this year. It is so tough to win a championship in soccer. One day we will get a second star but unfortunately not this year. I have no complaint with the players today (besides the penalty kick). I just think this wasn’t meant to be. -

Hard to argue with a personal reason like that. And I am in Raleigh right now, so if the Wolfpack win, they essentially get a home game right next door in Cary. Woulda been way to convenient for me to see the Zips in the College Cup, which is probably another reason it didn't happen. -
They mix in some nice graphics and stuff throughout. If I didn't know better I would think it was a real cable broadcast. Kudos to their production team.
-
I held back as long as I could. LOL.
-
I think this is the first mention of “neck stepping” this season 😂
-
Not the 14 year old homers or 90 year old former coaches we usually get. The Marshall color guy was still the best.
-
This is just the type of thing that drives Groce crazy- this team's propensity to not step on the neck's of their opponents when they get a decent lead.

My best man went there -
I will say these announcers are some of the better ones I've seen on ESPN+
-
Groce said pregame they gotta limit the turnovers, Tulane now has 20 points off TOs, not gonna be happy about that
-
Yes - too bad it's empty. (Goes to show a new arena isn't a top level issue re: attendance)

Why? When our conference teams do well in the post-season, it is generally good for us. -
Keep pushing it
