  2. BGSU beats Le Moyne, WMU lost to Campbell. Ban all directionals
  3. Today
  4. JMU looked a lot better today than against their exhibition on Wednesday. 14pt win against Coppin state. Still seem to need more work
  5. I was going to make this topic about the Guardians pitchers being investigated in the attached, but sports gambling is so part of sports now it deserves its own topic. My general take on sports gambling is we are going to see many more stories like this and at some point there will be a decline in sports betting because the gamblers won't trust the games. One way I could be wrong is if we get people so addicted to gambling apps that they will lay bets regardless of the integrity of the games. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.nydailynews.com/2025/11/09/cleveland-guardians-emmanuel-clase-and-luis-ortiz-indicted-for-pitch-rigging-sport-betting-scheme/&ved=2ahUKEwia-daM7OWQAxUTkYkEHZT4AAkQr_oDKAB6BAgsEAE&sqi=2&usg=AOvVaw3zKII9ozAQ3cUTWJWG7kyp
  6. As a somewhat newer western-PA resident, I was surprised to learn there were as many branch campuses as they’re were to begin with.
  7. Okay. Well anyways lol
  8. I would add, protecting blue blood fan bases which travel in big numbers and spend a lot more money on everything.
  9. We were!!! The refs fouled out Freeman on a fathom offensive screen call with about 3 minutes left. There were several questionable fouls on him that day. Protecting the blue bloods of the NCAA
  10. Yes, not like it's in an undeserved area either. Its like 25 minutes away from YSU. About an hour outside of Akron and Pittsburgh. There are plenty of other places for those students to go.
  11. I’m going to have to fix my scholarship chart. GoZips.com has him as a R-So. Could he possibly take over Hardman’s role next year?
  12. Oh no... a member of the oversaturated landscape of "higher education" institutions siphoning taxpayer money is shutting its doors. Anyways, win by 100 and don't have any injuries occur.
  13. PSU shenango is one of the few branches that was recently announced as shutting down in a couple years once current students finish their studies. A shame for them and for the local landscape, the sports programs are all new in the last 7-8 years and have had relative success for starting programs from scratch. Not to say I hope we don't win by a million but just some background on the local branch
  14. Watched the replay last night and Halligan really stood out in his limited minutes on the floor 🧐🔥🔥
  15. Yes, I don't understand it either. Especially since there are a lot more games in a college basketball season.
  16. It makes no sense to me that college football has the 4 game rule for redshirts but CBB has none.
  17. Like I say every year this is a tune up game for the zips. Score 100, get every non redshirt in the game (really wish redshirts could play. Would make these a lot more interesting) and stay healthy. Nobody plays more than 25 mins and get ready for Purdue. Lots of upsets to lower divisions this opening week of CBB. Don’t be another statistic!
  18. Zips X feed was on fire yesterday so instead of posting ~20 highlights, here is the link to X.
  19. New Haven is in it's first season of D1. Penn State probably felt it was easy practice for their players to get experience playing on the road without the risk of losing. Edit: I can't imagine it has much, if anything, to do with money. Pay games in college basketball aren't 7 figure costs like football. Penn State could have found a home game for under $100k if they really wanted, which to them is pocket change.
  20. Remember he won 3 NCAA tournament games in a span of 4 years at OU. I also think you forget having NIL money is only part of the puzzle. UMass has significantly more money than Akron, but from what I've watched they look pretty mid. A coach still has to be able to identify talent, develop players, and get them to fit in their system. Tod meanwhile is in his 24th year as a D1 coach, 16th at Toledo, and has never made the Big Dance. NIL has only been a factor for 2-3 years so that can't be an excuse. Even if you exclude his Akron tenure, Groce had more success in 4 years at OU than Tod has had in his 24 years as a D1 coach.
  21. Yeah, I respectfully disagree.
  22. Lol what an absurd statement. Egregious is a fitting name.
  23. Let's be clear: Without Bud Wentz, John Groce is just another MAC coach. Remember, he never finished higher than 3rd in the MAC regular season at Ohio.
  24. Oh, for me it’s the fact that Groce beat Toledo in the MAC Tournament one year and it seems like our Zips have been rolling ever since. Where as Toledo has good conference records, but can’t get past Groce (or Miami, Ohio, Kent). But because he does seem to despise Groce, I like to give Groce credit for breaking him. Just having fun and I’m biased of course.
  25. Can you elaborate on that? I've noticed Kowalchoke doesn't seem to like Groce much.
