Maybe. What I am certain of is the older you get, the faster you get old. 70 is really old to still be in the workforce. He and his wife appear to be in great health. Another saying is, there are three speeds in retirement: go-go, slow-go, and no-go. There is much more no go than the others. They might just want to enjoy their go-go years. I don't blame them one bit.5 points

DT transfer from UTEP. Former JUCO that is originally from London. Played less than 50 snaps last year, but played well in his limited time. 2 years of eligibility remaining. This one feels like a replacement for Robinson.5 points

Poor guy never even got a basketball bobblehead. On that note, I still have some Matthew Wilson bobbleheads available at a great price!4 points

I literally bruised my hand from clapping so much at that game, then had to play through the pain the next night vs KSUcks. First time that has ever happened!4 points

Finally found a replay of this game. This might have been my favorite Akron game to have ever seen in person. Electric atmosphere4 points

Commentators speaking vary highly of Enrique during the game saying he can be a great bench role player in the NBA, continuing on about his story... on top of an interview of the coach of his combine team saying he is the one that has stuck out the most to him.4 points

College Football 25 has its full reveal tomorrow. It's the most anticipated sports game in a VERY long time as the last college football game released in 2013. It looks like there will be 1 Ultimate Team player per school. Akron's has to be Jason Taylor - right? Or will it be more college-success-based? If so - Charlie Frye? I'm going to be all over this game, so if anyone is interested in doing a ZipsNation online dynasty, let me know.3 points

He is the permanent president, I don't think they could've handled another year long search process lol Two time UA graduate, that already is a good start3 points

The D1 docket is live. It gets updated with schedule information for each team as it becomes available. So far, nothing for Akron listed. https://d1docket.blogspot.com/p/2024-25-dockets-group-of-five.html3 points

A legitimate path is being paved for Freeman to the Association. This is so damn exciting. Nobody deserves it more than him.3 points

This is going to be UNREAL. Helluva job by EA and their team on exceeding expectations with this trailer.2 points

The more I read about President Nemer the more I like the decision. I like that he's an Akron native and a two-time graduate of The University of Akron. It is true that it is often desirable in academia to seek candidates from outside of your institution - “new blood” (from graduate students to professors to presidents/chancellors), but UA needed a fast transition to its next leader in these difficult times. In this case, the best person for the job was one of our own. He can hit the ground running and continue President Miller's progress. Tough times are ahead for UA and many state universities, but I feel confident as a UA alumnus and father to a current UA student that this was a smart move on the part of the Board of Trustees, a governing body that has not always made particularly good decisions for UA.2 points

More good news for Enrique - a Yahoo Sports article on 10 players who have helped their draft stock at the combine - https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-draft-combine-10-players-who-helped-their-draft-stock-172423141.html2 points

Relegation is a bizarre concept that would never fly. I just won't...no use even discussing it. A G5 division would fly. Especially if it's a model that uses NIL for it's original intent - Not to pay players like professionals from donor slush funds, but to allow players to promote a local car dealership, or get money from a jersey sale. To begin, maybe it only consists of 30-40 like-minded teams. But there'll quickly be late-adopters who find they're going broke trying to keep up with the Ohio States and Alabama's of the P5 landscape. They'll join the new G5. It would be interesting to see if any upper-tier FCS programs (NDSU) would join. The Zips Football Program barely has two pennies to rub together. Where's the $25k per MAC wide receiver going to come from? And the Zips aren't the only ones. All P5 and G5 schools are acting like they have ample donors lined up to fund this new era of Professional Free Agent College Football. But I don't believe it.2 points

I want the Cavs to draft Freeman so bad. Even if it means tearing up the G-League with Bates until they are both ready to make the jump.2 points

Guthrie just signed a contract extension that keeps him here until 2028. He has a great working relationship with the BoT. Nemer is also a sports guy with a good understanding of what athletics adds to the university. Btw, John Groce and Jared Embick also got extentions. None of our key guys are entering the transfer portal!😉2 points

I talked to Dr. Miller and his wife two years in a row at an alumni event the city where I live. Both are wonderfully nice people. Best wishes to them in the next phase of their life together. Dr. Miller had a good five years. He marshalled the University through difficult financial times. He also went out of his way to reach all parts of the University community. I loved the Good News With Gary monthly videos. Five years is enough for an executive at that level. Now that the hard cuts are made, bring someone in n with a different perspective to continue to move the University forward.2 points

There were a number of Akron fans sitting right behind the OU band. By the end of that game, I'm sure they really hated us.2 points

I wonder which team they're playing. Freeman swatting the 💩 out of Bronny or Sears would be fun.2 points

78 players participate. Edit: Odds are high of him at least making a summer league roster. It's still very much an uphill battle to secure a roster spot even if he does get drafted. Over coming the odds stacked against him obviously wouldn't be anything new to Freeman though.2 points

1-11 is also the range of ACT scores for the average Kent student. 110 is their average SAT score.1 point
