Akron led 15 to 8 in shots Akron led 8 to 3 in shots on goal Akron led 7 to 4 in corner kicks Akron appeared to have the majority of the time on the ball However, Akron was called for 19 fouls. Akron players were getting knocked down everywhere... WMU was only called for 9 fouls. https://wmubroncos.com/news/2024/8/30/mens-soccer-mens-soccer-ties-akron-1-1.aspx4 points

Proud of the zips they got kicked in the teeth on Sunday night they fought and battled today Dyson Clapier was very active today......his best game this year. Prayers and good thoughts for Ashton Kamdem. His injury does not look good.4 points

Biggest takeaways Front 6 looked like they could be really good against lesser competition. They held Ohio States run game in check all day Finley looks like he can be the guy but man he needs to stay healthy and safe. The o line should hold better against lesser competition but if not he’s in trouble. We have a D1 kicker! Could be a game changer in one score games I liked how Moorehead called the game I really hope he gets the confidence to allow for more play action and deeper throws but I completely get why we avoided it with the o line being totally outmatched today Wide Recievers need to do so much more hopefully it was just a matter of not getting plays to develop but we will see. Hell of a lot better than 2021 let’s hope it can translate the next few weeks.3 points

Gonna need multiple QBs when you schedule three money games to get everyone ground to a pulp.3 points

Our friend, Teon Dollard, one of the best Zips RB's I've ever seen, is still a big Zips fan2 points

Yes, I am legitimately feeling better. Akron could really get 3 or 4 wins this year. And then Finley runs out of bounds four yards short of first down on 4th and 5. So maybe not.2 points

Regardless of outcome (as long as we stay healthy), college football and most importantly ZIPS FOOTBALL is back baby. LET'S GO ZIPS! SHOCK THE WORLD... ... and cover the spread!2 points

It's great for recruiting. My daughter wouldn't have chosen Akron if it wasn't for the lacrosse team and the awesome stadium the girls share with the football team. And if you look at the athletes gpas at akron they are very impressive. The football program is good for student life, recruiting, and while not top 20 in the nation exceptional student athletes that reflect well on the college.2 points

Really loathe that soccer program. First of all, get lights. Until then, open the damn exposure on your camera so we can actually see the game on TV. Speaking of the camera, get a tower for the camera. I don't need a first row at the 50 yard line view. As long as Brian Kelly isn't controlling the tower decisions, everyone should be ok. Second of all, does their NIL find go to the refs?2 points

Final score was definitely not indicative of how well they actually played. But beat the point spread. 😂1 point

Buckeyes are flat and shooting themselves in the foot. Our defense has been our saving grace but also the problem allowing OSU to keep drives alive. All in all glad it's not 35-0. There are bright spots. OSU starters will still be in the second half. Considering the 48.5 spread we have to consider that better than we expected.1 point

I mean, yeah we played better, but I don't think "dominated" is the right word for a 1-1 draw1 point

I do not believe it is possible for an underdog to cover the spread, but we can prevent the buckeyes from doing so. GO ZIPS.1 point

I'm out of likes. Great to see the stats that confirm what we saw ... our Zips playing the better game. Got homered as I mentioned. Fouls and cards not called on WMU. Ashton Kamdem badly hurt but our Zips finish the match down a player; not WMU. That ref crew was worse than awful.1 point

Sport- if you're not a freshman and you're not contributing to Zips teams that are winning 2 games a year, you are likely not a division 1 football player.1 point

I'm a homer. Zips 27 - 24. Luckily, the point spread was +50 when they opened and I placed a bet, and they wouldn't allow me to pick the Zips to win ... lol. I will not be going to the game, I will be getting drunk on my couch at home sitting in ice cold air conditioning.1 point

I'm skipping attending the game. Paying a couple hundred bucks to bake in 87 degree heat and watch osu fans dance to Hang on Sloopy 50 times as the Zips get smoked ain't my idea of a fun Saturday afternoon. I still think the Zips 2024 win total resides between 4-6. I think we'll have a decent season. But when the opponent's starting CB makes as much money as your schools entire football budget, it ain't a fair fight. OSU 58 - Akron 101 point

What in the living hell. Down goes Finley on the first play. We have the worst luck0 points

It's true though. The school colors are BLUE AND GOLD, why TF are we wearing all white? White Helmets...yuck.0 points

This should anger every Akron alum and fan. Yes, OSU's football budget dwarfs Akron's. But it doesn't cost anything to project honor and professionalism in everything you do. That approach influences your players, fans, prospective students, everyone. But this coach shows up for his first "press conference" looking like he hasn't showered or shaved in days. He's a mess. And he doesn't even take the few minutes needed to change into some Akron gear before going on camera. Akron's football coach looks like a schmo. The AD should have a few choice words with him.0 points
