Pass Game Specialist for the Chargers...

Wow, good for Tom. I wish him well. Hopefully the Chargers can sign AB and OBJ this offseason.

George apparently does not have spellcheck.  Grammar and spelling for a journalist....nah.

In what should come as a surprise to very few, former University of Akron football coach Tom Arth has land a job as pass game specialist with the Los Angeles Chargers, according to a report from ESPN.

This is the same newspaper that printed a bold-faced headline on page A-2 last week that referenced a Russian Pkot to invade Ukraine.   A big old headline, since deleted in its archive e-edition.

I figured this would be his next move. I believe he interviewed with LAC a couple years ago. Thanks to that not working out, we suffered through another season of two of crap, which allowed us to hire Joe Moorhead.

Really wishing Tom well. DI HC wasn't his calling, but maybe he'll catch on in the NFL. He seems like a big brain, considering Manning & Staley think highly of him.

Also glad to hear the University is saving money. Any idea how much is being saved?

He turned down the job last time. Was sure he could turn things around at UA.

How many years can we keep this thread going?

I am very disappointed we are still on the first page! Hopefully someone can keep a log of all Charger results and passing game statistics in here so we can keep up with our fired coach who is completely irrelevant to the future of Akron football.

To help perpetuate this thread I suggest someone, other than me, start a list of important dates in Arth's life (e.g., each date he coached a D1 win, the date he was hired to coach the Zips, his birthday) and every year on those dates each member of Zipsnation can contribute a post explaining why that date is special to them.

There will be a total meltdown in this thread the next time Akron doesn't defeat mighty Bowling Green, the program that Arth made his B**** for nearly his entire tenure at Akron. We should have been more grateful! How can you get rid of that guy?!?!?!?

I thoroughly expect to hear about the Chargers' winning and losing streaks, passing statistics, and any player attrition that could at least be partially attributed to the Passing Game Specialist.

I have Herbert in a dynasty league, so we're gonna hope it's just winning and big numbers, thank you.
