LoyalZIP Posted February 9, 2022 Report Posted February 9, 2022 Pass Game Specialist for the Chargers, whatever that is. 1 1 1 Quote
GoZips86 Posted February 9, 2022 Report Posted February 9, 2022 Good for him. He wasn't what we needed at Akron for our beloved Zips, but he seems like a good guy so I wish him well. 6 Quote

LZIp Posted February 9, 2022 Report Posted February 9, 2022 Does this save the U (or boosters) $$ on his buyout? 1 Quote

a-zip Posted February 9, 2022 Report Posted February 9, 2022 George apparently does not have spellcheck. Grammar and spelling for a journalist....nah. Quote In what should come as a surprise to very few, former University of Akron football coach Tom Arth has land a job as pass game specialist with the Los Angeles Chargers, according to a report from ESPN. This is the same newspaper that printed a bold-faced headline on page A-2 last week that referenced a Russian Pkot to invade Ukraine. A big old headline, since deleted in its archive e-edition. Let'sGoZips94 Posted February 9, 2022 Report Posted February 9, 2022 I figured this would be his next move. I believe he interviewed with LAC a couple years ago. Thanks to that not working out, we suffered through another season of two of crap, which allowed us to hire Joe Moorhead. Really wishing Tom well. DI HC wasn't his calling, but maybe he'll catch on in the NFL. He seems like a big brain, considering Manning & Staley think highly of him. Also glad to hear the University is saving money. Any idea how much is being saved? Quote

GP1 Posted February 9, 2022 Report Posted February 9, 2022 Good for him. He's a good guy. I have no animosity towards him. 2 Quote
zips4life20 Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 What a world, you can go from 3 wins as a HC in college and getting fired, to an NFL job. Ive been doing life all wrong 2 Quote
Dr Z Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 You can go from three wins in the NFL, and get a HC job in college too. Three wins is the key. Quote

I am very disappointed we are still on the first page! Hopefully someone can keep a log of all Charger results and passing game statistics in here so we can keep up with our fired coach who is completely irrelevant to the future of Akron football. Quote
zippy5 Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 Speaking of, that individual hasn't been around much now that things seem to be going well 1 Quote
Zipmeister Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 To help perpetuate this thread I suggest someone, other than me, start a list of important dates in Arth's life (e.g., each date he coached a D1 win, the date he was hired to coach the Zips, his birthday) and every year on those dates each member of Zipsnation can contribute a post explaining why that date is special to them. 1 Quote
LoyalZIP Posted February 10, 2022 Author Report Posted February 10, 2022 There will be a total meltdown in this thread the next time Akron doesn't defeat mighty Bowling Green, the program that Arth made his B**** for nearly his entire tenure at Akron. We should have been more grateful! How can you get rid of that guy?!?!?!? 1 Quote

I have Herbert in a dynasty league, so we're gonna hope it's just winning and big numbers, thank you. Quote
