The networks aren't going to cut their own arm off by having NFL games on Saturdays. Check out the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961. Congress is the reason the nfl can't play games on friday and saturday while high school and college seasons are happening.

GoZips86
So, for Cliff Note purposes of recent posts, what does the future of the Akron Zips and the rest of the MAC look like based on the info we have now?
zippy5
The same as it has been. The MAC isn't going anywhere, for better or for worse

catdaddyp
Sleeve of Texas A&M’s NIL fund shut down. Sounds like they’ll be playing by the rules now. Just to add a little context, most P5 schools have some type of NIL resource department. They are only allowed to educate and let athletes know about the opportunities that are out there. They cannot directly facilitate a deal. The resource department can educate the collectives, but what the collectives do from there is on them. You also risk people being jaded by spending $60 on a loss to Bethune Cookman.
Blue & Gold
Zips should market a $60 ticket for all home games win, lose, or draw.

Can't tell is this is sarcasm or not (I think it is), but that is what they charge for a GA season ticket lol. It’ll be interesting to see how the dollar amounts change in the coming years as NIL collectives siphon some of those contributions away. It'll also be interesting to see how Akron's number changes as JoeMo gets the football program going. I'd imagine we find ourselves towards the top of the MAC (70s/80s nationally) in a year or two as hopefully more donors chip in and Kaulig's influence grows.
