Spin Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Well how are they going to blow this one now? Quote
ZipCat Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Certainly was not expecting that turn of events... 2 2 Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Zips are proving there is such a thing as an embarrassing win. 3 Quote
LZIp Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Craziest win I've seen in my life for the Zips. Feels good to get one in the win column, but we're lucky as hell to have it. MUST FIGURE OUT QB POSITION if there's any hope at a bowl game. That is the weakness on this team right now. 1 1 Quote
MDZip Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Nice to get the win but it doesn't exactly inspire confidence for the rest of the season. You don't often win when you turn the ball over four times. Now I know how CMU felt last year. 2 Quote
akzipper Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 This is probably the worst I've ever felt after a win. But damn, we needed that. In the grand scheme of things 1-3 isn't much better than 0-4. Just hope this gives the team a little momentum going forward. 2 Quote
ewbrooman1 Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Regardless, that was awful.and gives me no reason to be confident going forward. I sure hope something changes drastically. Quote
MDZip Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Apparently ESPN knew how this game was going to go. Quote
catdaddyp Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Unfortunately (or fortunately?) missed most of the game. Will have to go back and rewatch it. FYI, Buffalo lost to Fordham and NIU lost to Southern Illinois today. 1 Quote

By doing it now we hopefully have a head start on 2024 not being a lost season. 1 2 Quote
MDZip Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Bryan McCoy - 14 tackles and a game winning TD. I have my vote for player of the game. 1 Quote

1981 grad Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 We were due to have a team give us a game intead of us giving them the game. Great play by the defense to cause that fumble. Joe Pesarchic type play. Never thought I would see that again. Trying to figure out which Undercuffler interception was the worse. Tough Call. 3 Quote
MDZip Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Of course looking for the worst possible scenario, I was expecting that Teray Jones was going to get called for taking his helmet off while still on the field after he got his big sack on fourth down. It got called in the Colorado game earlier today, and I could just see some ending miracle on a call like that. I've been watching Zips games too long (sigh). 1 Quote

The third one was by far the worst. Just because at that point in the game, the most important thing the QB can do is not turn the ball over. Yet on second down he floated a ball right to the defense. I don't get why it's so difficult for the Zips to have even a mediocre QB. We don't need Frye or Getsy. We literally just need a guy who can manage the game, hit wide open WRs and not hurt us. As a fan of NE Ohio sports, my two football teams just can't get it right. They have no idea how to handle the QB position, constantly play down to competition and have games filed with self inflicted errors. Edited September 10, 2023 by akzipper 1 Quote
