Reslife4Life Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Just about what Vegas expected, not bad. Plenty to build upon through the whole year Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago (edited) We got homered and still put up 79 on the road at the #1 team in the country. Wow! Edited 14 hours ago by UAZipster0305 Quote

roopride Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Kind of felt we weren’t as disciplined starting the second half. Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Covered the spread. Only scored 1 less pt than Bama did vs Purdue. All this despite an obvious officiating scandal. Go Zips! Quote
tboned Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago i can't stand to watch these biased refs. It's a bunch of crap. Call the damn game straight up. I turned this crap off! Quote

72 Roo Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Lots to be excited about this team. This game was an impossible task, but the team played tough. We can't do much about height, but we can reduce the turnovers and shoot better at the foul line. We will be good this year and super at tournament time. Groce has a plan and its is playing out. 2 Quote
1981 grad Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago I thought we could have boxed out a little better against their height. Need to put a butt in their gut to keep them off the boards. However, I still thought we played great and if we play this well against other teams we should be very good this year. Quote

We got called for a foul when boxing out at least once...seriously, that's not an exaggeration. Quote
ZipsFan31 Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago This team has a chance to be really good. I love the brother’s size and athleticism. Played the game as good as I think we realistically could. Win the paradise jam next week and I think at large is still in play. 1 Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted 13 hours ago Author Report Posted 13 hours ago They lost by 18 to the team many consider to be the best in the country. I won't lose a second of sleep over this one. 1 Quote

Said he thinks we could’ve scored 90 We scored 79 with a not-so-great second half. 90 was absolutely in play. Heck, if the officiating is just slightly less egregious, 90 would've been in play. Lots to learn from this game, but I love where the ceiling appears to be for this team. Edited 13 hours ago by Let'sGoZips94 1 Quote

I thought we protected the ball fairly well. We only had 10 turnovers, which was 2 fewer than Purdue in what was a very fast paced game. Being outrebounded 45-26 was the real issue. They had a lot of easy 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chance points. I get we weren't going to win the rebounding battle, but Lyles only having 1 board just can't happen. Let's say he had 7 instead. That would have meant Purdue would have won the rebounding battle 39-32, which would still be a healthy margin, but not so large that you couldn't make up for it elsewhere. 2 Quote

Lyles has struggled to rebound against talented teams with size. In 59 total game minutes against Purdue, Arizona, and St. Marys (both last season, of course), he has 6 total rebounds. This is part of why I wish they would've given Barre a look earlier tonight. He didn't record a rebound in his limited time, but I at least saw some physicality from him in the paint. Overall, I'm happy. They didn't get embarrassed and I don't think we will see another team that good this season unless we reach the Sweet 16. Quote
Reslife4Life Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Watching the game I thought Bowen played really well. It seemed like when he took shots they were timely and they went in. After looking at the stats he only went 2/4, but when we play games like this if he can make those looks at a consistent rate it is exactly what we need. Also I love watching Marvin play, obviously being matched up on a guy almost a foot taller than him rebounding and affecting shots is gonna be an issue. But what I like most about him is that he is just a pest on defense, recorded 2 steals in 13 minutes. If I were to make a comparison to someone, I would honestly compare MMK to Remi Agunbiade of the soccer team, just a super high work rate trying to help their team in more ways than just the obvious Quote

LOL. I think Sharron comes around. He just had a rough night. I love Amani's work ethic but he is what he is. He's not a quick twitch big jumper and he's only 6'7"- 6'8". He's always doing to struggle a little against larger skilled big men. Quote
Zippy87 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I want Stankovic to be more aggressive on offense. His size and athleticism get him.to good spots in the floor, but he doesn't look for his own shot enough. I am sure that will come with more time. Quote

Liked everything about him until he gets to a spot to get a shot up, and then just... Doesn't Quote
