Eric rebounded really aggressively. It's something I've noticed we don't do often. A lot of times we'll block out really well and then just kind of wait for the ball to come down while defenders are jumping over us. Eric just want up and grabbed the damn ball. Good to see3 points

Out of reactions but this hits the nail on the head. Conference expansion has been a disaster for the actual fans of the sport. Get rid of the conference names at this point, just call the MAC “league ten” since it’s the bottom of the totem pole. If we think no one in the community cares when we play schools like CMU, just imagine a year where Kent is a road game and we get a home conference schedule of: Western Michigan, Sacramento, Umass, and Ball State. I just hate everything about this. Who is next? Northern Arizona? Tarleton State? Gardner Webb?2 points

The NCAA wouldn't waive the waiting period for them and allow them to be an independent. Mountain West said no thanks. Now they're trying with the MAC.2 points

Really happy to see Marvin get some minutes and really play well. His foul shots were pure gold. You could tell he has been working on that part of his game. Made some real hustle plays. That was the 2nd bizarre game at the JAR in a row. Kent went 1 for 23 from 3 and in this game we almost shot 50 foul shots. That 10 minute intermission while the refs reviewed the scrum like it was the Kennedy assasination film was rediculous. I thought the Zips played well but our 3 point shooting was well below 40%. We also played slow and often shot near the end of the shot clock. I was surprised to see how much trap zone we played. The Zips did a great job on the boards against a very physical team. I thought we were more athletic and quicker than Mass. Great win for the Zips!!!2 points

Serb will be needed for his 5 fouls at this rate. This needs sent to the MAC for review. The refs should be suspended for how they've handled this game.2 points

Shammah might be the best last second of the first half shooter that I have ever seen.2 points

Clearly you've been to Howard Street! 😆 Seriously though, this is the worst idea in a very long string of bad ideas by the MAC and its members' Presidents.1 point

I would guess more like 4-4:30, but being the third game you obviously don't really know. I generally plan on 2.5 hours between game tipoff times.1 point

If it happens, this is tragic. Outside of Kent, Ohio and Miami are some of our best rivals. You think no one cares now?...wait until we have only directional Michigans, Buffalo and schools from three states away or on the opposite coast as our opponents.1 point

That style offense is what I've been wanting. High octane, lots of movement, lots of opportunities. Most teams won't be able to keep up, as we saw last night. We don't even have to shoot particularly well. Keep this style up.1 point

Out of reactions. This is a good evaluation of both of them. I really do think that both of them can find their own roles instead of taking each other’s minutes. I still hope barre can step up and contribute cause with his size it will eventually come in to play1 point

- Loved Sharron's defense. He seems to be pressing on offense. I've said it before, but I'd consider flipping him and Scott and bringing Young off the bench for a bit. He'll still get plenty of minutes, but I wonder if it may allow him to relax his game a bit. - Really nice game from Shammah. After Evan was ejected, he was one of the ones that really stepped up. I also noticed how calm he was throughout that incident. His veteran presence is huge for this team. - Evan was fantastic. He's such a natural athlete - I think he has the highest upside of anyone in the roster. I'd like to see him get starts moving forward - he has earned it. - Marvin gave us some really important minutes last night. What he lacks in size he makes up for in effort. He is tough as nails. I'd like to see him get 5-10 minutes every game. - I feel for Barre. His injuries have prevented him from finding his groove and now he is pretty clearly pressing. Groce/Ford seemed very frustrated with him on the play where he got it stolen away then committed a frustration foul. He never got back in. - Hope Oggy is at least developing in practice. I was/am excited about him - his game is raw, but you can see the enormous potential when he does play.1 point

15mm is more than a million for each member school (assuming it’s distributed to members). Also sounds like they are willing to forgo TV revenue money, which I expect to increase in general with the new deal coming up, and more if the Sacramento market is in the mix. Sac State has also been paying money for big name players who haven’t worked out in P5 which makes them intriguing to watch. A trip there every other year probably seems worth it to me.1 point

“University Arena” hasn’t been too kind to us recently. We are 1-2 in our last 3 games up there1 point

Injecting $15m into the conference is a nice consolation for being "devalued." Not sure how much more the MAC could've been devalued anyways; the MAC has been on a "joke" trajectory for a couple decades.1 point
-
I’m not sure who would see this as a devaluation. I’d actually say there’s a good chance Sac State is using this as a stepping stone for the future. MAC schools have been losing their fair share of recruiting battles to Sac State for JUCO players over the past few years, for what it’s worth.1 point

UMass is a good team that can shoot very well. But if the MAC doesn't get their fouling in check I could see a bench clearing brawl in the future. My prediction is it happens when UMass plays Kent.1 point
-
Looks like the Zips have a game in hand, but I'm not so sure I'd like to see UMass in the MAC tournament. Mostly to not get our guys beaten to a pulp.1 point
-
Sounds like it’s for football only. I don’t see the downside for the MAC here. Actually seems like a big win. Sac State paying an entry fee and probably giving up league revenue early on I would guess.1 point

If Mahaffey gets ejected for putting his elbow up, then there should be an ejection for shoving Halligan to the floor.1 point

Why would the MAC want to go to an odd number of teams with one team being 2000 miles from the nearest member? Couldn't they take their $12M and dangle it in front of the Mountain West?1 point

Glad they wasted the entire halftime show talking about Miami. So tired of this "nobody would play them BS." Somehow Akron and Kent could schedule Purdue. Yet the best Miami could do is Mercyhurst and winless UNC Asheville? Give me a break.1 point

How would you like to play for this coach who basically threw all of his players under the bus. I think everyone on this board knew that Nate was a great MAC player but few thought the would be a great player at the next level. The coach has to accept responsiblity for assembling a team that cannot compete at the level. Basically, the players are pros and mayber the colleges should have a gm who evaluates talent and brings in talent. Tang might be a great coach but not sure if he can evaluate talent. When K State lost to Bowling Green he had to know this was going to be a losing season.1 point

I'll never blame Nate for taking that money. I will laugh at KSU for paying Nate Johnson that much money.1 point

I think that it is probably appropriate to have Joao Moutinho on the 2026 list. He is with Lech Poznan in the top tier league in Poland. From what I can tell, their season spans from July 2025 to May 2026. Lech Poznań, is a Polish professional football club based in Poznań and currently competing in the Ekstraklasa, the nation's highest division. https://www.lechpoznan.pl/en/schedule--results,47.html https://www.lechpoznan.pl/first-team,11,joao-moutinho,2931,zawodnik.html1 point
