Does that make it right?  I have gone to many functions, business and non business activities because it was the right thing to do and I did not leave early because it would have been disrespectful to the host.  If the University is training these student athletes for life and a business career, should they not learn respect for others?  If I was the U I would make it mandatory that the coaches escort the teams on the floor and that the coaches and teams stay till the end of the game and cheer on the Zips any time a student athlete is honored during a sporting event.

The life of a student-athlete is very busy and the "student" part of that equation should come before anything. Forcing them to stay til the end of a game they are not a part of doesn't make much sense to me. And what are you going to do, block the doors?

Athletics, Groce, and the players are doing a good job of connecting with students to try to draw more to games. Hopefully we'll draw a few more each game.

Came here to say Athletics did a fantastic job yesterday. Great giveaway, ceremony was awesome, the video they put together was really cool, we had a spotlight for intros - seriously, I don't know who is behind the renewed energy or if it's a collective effort, but they're doing a hell of a job this season.

Agreed 100%

Through some conversations with those in the know, I'm starting to gather a sense of the group behind the renewed energy. It is certainly a collective effort, but it's a small collective.

I won't name names, but hats off to those who are involved. Akron needs warriors who are willing to do whatever it takes to move UA forward and ascend to new heights. They also need our help as fans to continue to show our support, and last night Zips Nation did just that. Fantastic night.

I agree with one caveat- whomever decided to play music during Groce and Enrique’s speeches at the halftime ceremony should be flogged.
