I'm not saying it would. I posted what I think would be ok stipulations that both allowed for expansion and maintained the integrity of college basketball. I'm well aware their goal is to get the C & D tier Power Conference teams into the tourney.

LZIp
I ran a department meeting this morning infront of about 100 people all over the country. We do a random multiple choice question in this meeting where the first 3 correct answers get a gift card. The question? Who has longest winning streak in men’s bball. Felt good man. Reslife4Life Posted yesterday at 02:17 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:17 PM I wasn't a fan during the 2013 season, so I can't imagine what that was like to have this same winning streak in MAC play only to limp to the finish line after the starting point guard gets arrested. Was there this same excitement surrounding the team before they ending up losing their 14th game of MAC play?

The excitement was way higher as that team had the look of a top 25 team that could make a sweet 16 run. This group is fun to watch! Happy to see the mo building with this team. The way the can score they can absolutely win a tourney game.

1981 grad
Two big differences between that team and current team. No discussion about height or lack of height. We had a 7 footer Zeke Marshall at center and 6-8 or 6-9 Demitreus Treadwell at power forward who was a beast under the boards and quick for a big man. Marshall also was an amazing shot blocker. Both players had very successful years playing overseas after leaving Akron. Second, for lack of a better word, citizenship. The Abreu incident will not occur with todays players. KD took a chance on some players and sometimes it kicked him in the butt.

A guys like Abreu may not have bothered with the hassle of selling dime bags to college students if he had someone like Wentz cutting him a $30k check.

Yeah...I think it is more likely that he'd have tried to parlay that $30k into a few more bales of the chronic and turn it into $200k. They say "There's no greater tragedy than unrealized potential". Whenever I hear the phrase I immediately think about that Zips basketball team.

He may have been the one to sell to the guys who sold the dime bags to college kids, but it's not like he was some sort of drug kingpin. It's possible he could have just used the money to scale into something larger. Who knows.
tpsjugglerdude
Those 2013 black jerseys with the twitter handle on the back sure caused a national stir. That season had the best marketing under Brad Swanson. The JAR was packed almost every MAC game.
