NCAA Tournament- Creighton

I think I read somewhere on here that someone said priority goes based on your contribution to the Z fund (or the Zips Athletic Club, whatever its called now). You'd think being a season ticket holder would get you some preference regardless of those contributions...However if not, I'm only able to make it to a few games a year anyways. It might make more sense for me to cancel the tickets and just donate that amount directly to the Z fund. At least I'd get a tax deduction..

The ticket allotment isn't even enough to cover the blue seat down below. Assuming the 550 allotment is accurate. If the game was somewhere like Spokane where it required flying, then maybe some tickets would make it to the general public. That's just not going to happen now given the proximity. Ticket prices on Stub Hub aren't unreasonable. It probably helps none of the other 3 schools in Akron's pod are close to Pittsburgh.

Thanks. looks much cheaper than the $400 to get in price I was seeing last night on ticketmaster and seat geek. Maybe I was looking at the whole session price though.

No MAC teams in the NIT or CBI.  Cleveland State is headed to the CBI.

Do you old timers remember when Creighton came to the JAR in 2011?  A big Zips win, 76-67 led by Brett McKnight and Nikola Cvetinovic over the Blue Jays led by Doug McDermott who went on to the NBA.

I don't think the NCAA selection committee did Creighton any favors. They will still probably have more fans make the trip than Akron as their fans are more conditioned to traveling, but even if they outnumber us 2:1, it will probably still be a very pro Akron crowd. The South Carolina and Oregon fans will most certainly be cheering for Akron. I assume the neutral fans attending from Pittsburgh will be cheering for the upset as well.

Could be. There might have also been a spike in demand as fans were rushing to buy as soon as they knew where their team was playing. I just looked this morning so I don't know what the prices were showing last night.

That season, the Zips lost their final 2 regular season games, beat Miami in the quarterfinals, and beat Kent by 1 in the championship. Sounds familiar.

I remember Chris and Brett, but I must have missed their other brother Brian. 😉

Nikola Cvetinovic

One of my favorite Zips.  Good inside player.  He loved to shoot the 3 ball although he rarely made one.  One game was really close and he started his shooting motion for a 3 ball and everyone in the crowd yelled no.  He smiled and then drove to the basket.  One of the funnier moments in the jar.

I got section 109. $145 per ticket after fees. Got a $27 parking pass too.

4 times I had tickets selected and at the very end of the transaction I got a “tickets no longer available “ message. Bastards.

See you Thursday. Hope the blue hairs represent in the Primo seats!

Ticket office told me they only got 350 tickets this year.
